There was a rolls Royce ghost parked in front of it all day but when I went back for photo it was gone, I know it's new but it was seriously imposing.

That Merc in Gammygil's Manchester post is in the Trafford Centre.
It belonged to the mother of the guy who developed the shopping centre.
Strange tribute but nice to see among all the shops.

"Imperial" - sorry not up on my US cars.

Look at the length of the boot on it.

Compared to the Superb beside it :)

that's a fairly regular, (if not quite a daily) driver around Greystones, well kept too.

What does the .4 mean on the badge?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,465 ✭✭✭Arthur Daley

4 pot, instead of 6 cyl. There was also a 230.6 which was technically a W114 as it had 6cyl. in line. W115s like this one had 4 in line.

    great spot btw

I'm not sure what the owner/driver was doing. He had a notebook out and was writing in it while closely inspecting the wheel area.

Thanks! It was a massive thing. Owner did not have and optional machine guns on the hood lol (as seen in video)

It's possibly the only one in the country and looks to be in very good condition.
I suppose you could say it's a Mint Imperial :)

They've been going for stupid money since forever at this stage.

And yet I'd chew my arm off for one, there's something about em, if you're into outdoors at all it's the thing to have.

    That or a syncro.

No. You don't want a Syncro! Had three, sold them all. Great fun then, not great fun trying to get parts for them now!

I get the sentiment but if everyone thinks like that then there'll be no classics left on the road.

In any case, if you were to think of any manufacturer with a following so big to justify aftermarket parts being made available VW would be right up there.

Not easy, but easier than some other marques to source parts I would guess.

Maybe! I put over €20,000 in parts and body work into my Multivan Syncro over and above its purchase price. That was in the day when you could get genuine parts which are almost unobtainable now. It was one of the best and I managed to sell a few years ago just before Syncro prices levelled off.

Good Syncros are rare, very rare.
