The blue one looks like an Abarth 750 Zagato Monza I think, a really nice car. Worth well over €100K, closer to €250K, depending on its history.

No idea what the red one is.

    Where did you see them?

I'm currently in a small town in Tanzania in the regional hospital (Mentorship for a month). I expected to see loads of old metal, Toyota mainly. To be honest, I haven't seen anything pre '85, one pre '90 Carina and the rest are modern metal. I'm disappointed for the classic spotting and happy that my pre-concieved notion about the wealth of the people is broken. The roads here would kill any car though except old Toyotas.

I saw a really smart Opel Omega yesterday in Gorey. I haven't seen one in ages and always had a graw for one but you just cant find good ones anymore.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,033 ✭✭✭Silvera

I always liked the Opel Omega too....actually most Opel's from the 80's tbh (I grew up near an Opel dealership...currently have a Manta B):D

I recently visited the Angelsey Motor Museum in Wales (not too far from Holyhead) and they have 3(!) x Lotus Carltons (aka Omega's) on display.

LHD Column shift. Would love to have a tear off it. The lad told me there was something wrong with it but not sure what exactly, he had a 304 cabrio as well but it was under a layer of plastic.

The irony outside a motor factors. Uncle bought a new one back in the 70's. Said it was nothing but hardship. Still look great though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,033 ✭✭✭Silvera

^^^ I wonder what's the name of that motor factors

...and do they sell red number plates (like the one on the door, i.e. 'STORES)?

I think you are right on the plates, but they really know their old (and new) stuff. They are old school and relying on experience and knowledge, rather than a computer. They also carry the normal service stuff for old Ford's on the shelf (like I got two flexible brake pipes there before, they were on the shelf and not old stock!).

If I'm looking for anything, they are my first port of call.
