Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Maybe it's the conspiracy theorist in me but I'm wondering did somebody in RTE do an Andy Gray on him, and forget to let Eamonn know that they were back on air... The way Eamo is looking around (as if to blame somebody else) has me thinking that..

Nah, you can see Didi is playing with his phone, there was obviously a directorial cockup. Silly to use that language anywhere near a mic, live or not. He sounds tipsy tbh.

How did so many Mexicans know the team were in red tonight?

The most un- brazilian team you are likely to see, cant dribble and its just poor touch after poor touch.

I would've thought that a country the size of Mexico would be producing a steady stream of excellent footballers over the last 10 years.

Is football not as big there as South America?

A lot like England in a lot of ways. Their own league is pretty strong, and they can't play abroad if their life depended on it.

Football is huge there, but in the cities, where the majority live, crime is very bad, worse than Brazil and in rural areas there is extreme poverty. No infrastructure. Basically same reason Nigeria doesn't produce loads of quality players either.

Yup, such a run of the mill team. No spark to them. I remember the World Cups back in the 80's and 90's and you HAD to watch Brazil play. They were the heart of the competition, they were freestyle football and it was glorious. This team is just sad. No adventure, no creativity, no moments of individual genius.
