I've had a few relationships throughout me years... Maybe I'm just mature, I don't know... Sure, sex feels great and all, but I can never understand the appeal of "whoring" yourself out to have as much sex as possible... I honestly find it somewhat pathetic, but each to their own I suppose.

I know it might sound odd, but there's more to life than just sex!

[And I know someone will mention you need sex to carry on the species or something like that; think most of you would be using condoms... ]

I remember thinking a few years ago all the girls i slept with and that i didnt even like them as a person in reality, but was just a drunken night out shenanigans . All it would have taken was to have got one of them pregnant and id have spent the rest of my life having dealings with this person. Kind of scared me a small bit .

what difference would it have made to have taken proper precautions. I suppose as you get older you get wiser , or more boring, depends which way your outlook on life is.

Nope. Most I've done on a drunken night is kiss someone. I don't like the idea of having a one night stand. Great for everyone who likes them, all of my friends and sisters had them, but it's not something I want to try tbh.

I don't like them tbh and I'm not sure I'd ever do them again, other people can do what they like. Safety is enough of a concern not to make them worth it/enjoyable because you have to use precautions. I think knowing someone, liking someone, being attracted to them as a person, not having to use annoying condoms, being able to do more intimate stuff like oral sex without protection........leads to better sex in the end And if you're more often in long-term relationships, you could care less about one nights stands when you're already getting all the sex you need.

Tbh, I'd imagine one night stands and relationship sex are equally enjoyable, in their own ways.

It's not something that appeals to me personally, I'd rather not have sex if I'm single. But i totally understand the appeal it has for other women and men.

yeah, when i was single (many moons ago i'll admit) one night stands were a given whenever i was looking for it, and my **** buddy wasn't available... and so many people were doing them, yet these days not a lot of people do,

i am not saying they are better or worse than when you are in a relationship, but i would have thought they would be more common these days, not less, hence my confusion.

I'd imagine they're just as common. Everyone i know has has them more than once. My boyfriend couldn't count how many one night stands he's had :pac:

But, with all things that are common, there are some people who don't do the common thing, for whatever reason.

Oh I definitely don't think they're less common now! Just from people I know myself, I don't know many people that are not into it. Maybe you keep better company :P

actually i think its more a combination of aging and them wanting to settle down as they are sick of the dating loads of women/one night stand scene.

but thats why i got confused, if they are more common now, why do lots of people (even in after hours) become adamant that they don't when it comes to one night stands.
