Day trip to Brussels if duty paid can i bring more than 1kg tobacco

From the Charter:

How many can I bring in?*
From within the EU, as many as you want, but you may be asked to explain yourself if you have more than 800. The customs officers' decision on whether they believe your story or not is final.

You can only bring 200 into the EU from outside, regardless of whether you paid duty when you bought them or not.

From my own experience,i've never had any problems bringing in an average of 2000 cigarettes from Brussels,all the same brand and for my own use. If you were stopped with mixed brands you run a very high risk of seizure as it'll appear that you're bringing various brands in to sell on.

I always bought them in the airport,better price,plenty of stock and there's a smoking area near the gates the Dublin flight goes from.:)
