    Hi all,

I need some advice on runners. Thinking of investing in a new pair as I try to kick start my exercise routine. I really just need people recommendations on what would be considered highly regarded shoes for beginners for less than 100 quid. I current have asics gel and would be happy to go with a particular model ye feel would suit. I'm not a serious runner. I try to get out 3 times a week. I've built up to 5km quite quickly and the intention will be to get up to 10km standard as I did before when I got into it (new dad so have been on sabbatical for a while!). Pretty much all my running is on the paths. So what would people recommend for a modest standard? Also, would ye avoid on line? Where's best online if no issues?

I'm sure there are loads of threads on this already so please excuse my laziness to search!

    Cheers in advance as ever,

    Mp

Go to a proper running store (not a large sports chain) and get gait analysis done and they will recommend shoes based on that.

Everyone is different, what suits me might not suit you.

What part of the country are you in and someone will recommend a shop.

Cheers for reply....based in d14 area...don't mind a few shoe recommendations all the same even to look into before popping into a shop....don't want to get rail roaded by shops own stock if that makes any sense...

Don't know Dublin well but Amphibian King in Ashtown Gate always get very good reviews and there is also Runways on Parnell St.

My own personal favourites are Mizuno, others love Saucony but I couldn't get along with them.

    Agree with pointer ...
It's time and money well spent to visit a specialist store.
I use AK in Ashtown : process is straight forward : once you've done a gait analysis, they will recommend 4 / 5 pairs - usually different brands - you try them on and the you choose the shoes you like the most .
Since I started running, I've been fitted with Asics , Saucony and On.

Amphibian King in Fashion City in Ballymount Industrial Estate is probably closer to you than Ashtown, easier and less expensive to get to.
