insulated scrap copper cylinders

just wondering what ye guys do with your insulated scrap copper cylinders
iv about 15 at home in the shed, that iv replaced in the last year or 2.
they all seem to leak at the bottom .
i take it~ scrap yards dont except them this way without foam been removed.
i manually took it off before on a few cylinders, hard work to remove this and then the foam fills up my wheely bin
what ye guys do with yours,
what sort of cash ye getting per kg now

any tips or sudgestions?

You can burn the foam off, leaves you nothing but ashes.

Not exactly very environmentally friendly though

If you are based in Dublin the scrapyard in Ranelagh will take them with the insulation, but they deduct 2 kg from the weight of the cylinder for their trouble to strip it off.
I think copper is getting 3600 a tonne at the moment, but you can always ring around.

O Reillys in Ballybough doesnt deduct anything with insulation on them.

All the ones in cork take them.

make sure to remove the immersion as well some places reduce the price is its left in

It depends on it weight.you will get 4 euro/kg approx
