Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Premier League Fixtures 2014/2015

Understandably, this seems to have been lost in the World Cup hype, but the Premier League fixtures for the 2014/2015 season are released tomorrow at 9am.

    What are you hoping for?

I know, I know, everyone in the league plays everyone twice, but as a Sunderland fan the way the fixtures fell for us last year (top seven from the past season at home in a row, then subsequently playing the same teams away in a row in the second half of the season), I hope the fall a bit kinder this year.

I've noticed over the years that lots of our games fall at the same time every year due to the way the computer is programmed, e.g., games against Newcastle for us are usually in October/November and the return in February/March. Everton, Manchester United or Manchester City are generally close enough in terms of dates for us over the Christmas period. Is the same trend evident with your teams?

Overall, I'm hoping for a more balanced schedule in terms of the split of top teams and weaker teams, and to avoid any promoted teams for the first few weeks.

Liverpool at home against Norwich...oh damn. Burnley then.

Its all fixed, Super Sunday nonsense and all that.

In the last two seasons LFC have been handed a tough opening schedule and a pretty easy one, so this time probably something between the two

Id hope for a home game against a new comer and face a rival home or away within the first 5 games see where we're at.

Regarding trends, i dont think weve played a "big team" in an opening fixture in a long time. I think we played Utd at home in 03-04 in our first league game or 1st Home league game, apart from that its hard to remember an opening day tough fixture.

Villa will have united first game, which is as good a time to play them as any I suppose

My sincere hope is that everybody is drawn to play everyone else twice, once at home and once away.

This could make or break a season, sure if it wasn't for the fixture computer comprising against David moyes he would still be in a job! Also remember Chelsea got that handy run in so they could win both the league and champions league double!

i always base my decision on whether to watch any of the season or whether to just wait for next year from reading the fixtures in June!

United handed a great opportunity to be in the mix early on. Viewing figures must have been down last season.

I recall Moyes thinking the fixture draw was rigged this time last year.

Wonder if LVG thinks the same.

Yeah Van Gaal could barely have hand picked an easier set of opening fixtures. First good side they play is Everton in October.

Man City again in our first game. FFS

December looks a real tough month. Arsenal, Man United, Chelsea, Sunderland and Everton all in there.

    Christ.

I was hoping we'd get the trip to Sunderland (and the inevitable defeat) out of the way pretty quickly. But no; we have to wait until december for that game.
