sometimes silly little things put me in a good/better mood. like having a few pringles or going for a cup of coffee.
or just sitting on a park bench watching ducks mess about, they're hilarious, and i like most animals.
i often think i am a very simple person and don't need much to be happy but my brain just
doesn't let me be with bad negative thoughts, worries, insecurities.

Salt & vinegar is nice too. Also buffalo.

    totally agree on the s&v.
i would occassionally have buffalo but it will never be a classic.
how do you feel about smokey bacon?
    a modern classic i say.
will never be c&o or s&v but it's the best they've come up with in decades.
    above buffalo surely?

I haven't had a pack of smokey bacon in years!

Do any of ye remember that sweet popcorn Tayto used to make?

i haven't had one in a few months.
delicious creation. but i am convinced the recipe has changed over the years.
i didn't mind that popcorn but i tend to favour the salted variety.
don't think that tayto stuff lasted long in production but i may be wrong.
could still be around for all i know.

Salty popcorn is heavenly, especially that really really salty kind that only cinemas tend to sell. Most likely a ploy to get you to buy the larger drinks but I don't care!

i'm actually salivating here i'd love a big container of it now.
the more salt the better as far as i am concerned, and that is quite far.
you'd need a huge coke with it alright. serious discomfort otherwise.
but that makes it even better. a combo made in heaven popcorn and coke.

not usually but the mouth would get awful dry with a monster tub of popcorn alright.
must get to the cinema soon haven't been in months.
i don't mind going to the cinema by myself actually, it's dark
and it's not really a social thing as people have to concentrate on the film.
must look up what's on this week. all this talk of popcorn i have to get some!

not thought of it like that before but yeah it is certainly a way to look at it/think on it.

right now i feel like that. i know the pain will come back though.
and the happiness too, so i suppose i'm in that state but i know i'll revert to
    regular emotion soon.
it's not that i feel nothing now just that there are so many conflicting thoughts in my mind they've sort on cancelled each other out for tonight
and i revert to thinking about inanities, like crisps.

    what are your Big Thoughts?

Like for me, it feels kind of odd to say mine have been chronically obsessive thoughts about my appearance which domino down to not being able to live and love etc. felt I blew a good hand i was dealt.

Is there one major thing that has bin the lynch-pin for you?

I am new to boards.ie and just to throw in my 2 cents on this topic I believe that people with depression live in the past, people with anxiety disorders live in the future, the trick is to live in the present, to be in the here and now and accept your thoughts, feelings, emotions, etc for what they are good or bad.

Eh, no. The clocky thingy went back one hour.

Yeah, the absence of hedonism, or something close to that.

Having said that, being a hedonist might not be the best way to go through life...

    Dysthymia is another interesting word.

Very easy to say, very hard to do.

I like your past, present, future analysis. The main thing is being aware of the moment (now). Learning how to distract your mind is easy. Doing it can be hard. Meditation helps a lot.

It is, I think someone needs a personal insight, a way in to it to get to what you're talking about and surely meditation and cultivating a meditative mindset will get ye there but it takes time, motivation and commitment. For me I've been forced towards it through pain and things not adding up.

I like the way you've put it though.

I was bordering on serene last night and I wake up with worry, the usual. I think as it gets towards evening/night I get more relaxed as I don't think there's anything left to do with the day. But at this time I think of the fact that I'm not able to make something of the day.
