it just flows, and stalls when it needs to stall.
hard to describe music in words.
got a beachy/california vibe about but it's a bit city too if you get me.
    really chugs along nicely.

I need to stop thinking of tomorrow, and all those what-if scenarios. Just try focus on the now and enjoy it.
    Easier said than done

It never occured to me that it could be taken that way :o I always just thought it was a happy/motivating song.

dont mind me. everyone picks up different themes/mesages from music. Just for me that was the message I get, and its also part of the cause of my anxiety.
    Still a great song though.

Has anyone been to a recovery meeting? It was founded by Abrahm Low and uses the CBT model. I've been to 3 meetings and I found it a bit weird, would love to hear others experiences.

I looked into these but couldn't find any that were close to me and/or was for anxiety.
I'm slightly ashamed to admit it but for a while I was considering going to the local AA meetings just to get used to talking in front of people.

What was your experience like? How many people?

But I am on the look-out for something like public speaking coaching but for people with severe anxiety.

    Any ideas?

that sounds like a decent idea to me, the AA meetings.
to get used to public speaking if you need to.
i haven't had to speak in public much but i am terrified of it.
it really does get a LOT easier after the first few times.
i would suggest maybe finding a group of some kind to join,
that wasn't specifically anxiety related. something you are interested in.
sporsts club/amateur dramatics/host a pub quiz/club or society if you are studying..
or if you have a real life friend who understands your situation you could build it up by starting with them, one person.
and build it up from there.

I'm gonna have to find something that requires public speaking, if I dont overcome that before I get a job, I fear the anxiety will be too extreme to continue working....fear of meetings, presentations, etc.

On a side note....has anyone tried curcumin supplements for depression? Its a newly discovered component of turmeric. Research is in its infancy but the results are promising. You can buy curcumin supplements, so I was thinking of getting them.

Here's a link to a study, only the abstract is available.

might have a curry tonight cookie then :D
i really think the public speaking thing comes with practice.
try to think as you would were you an audience member as opposed
to the speaker. most of the audience don't even want to be there or are
wrapped up in their own lives and concerns.
    good luck to you

Before I forget, Jimmy, been wanting to say for a while I think you come off as a very nice, very smart genuine person, and when I read of your anxiety issues I feel really bad for you. It's like from the outside you can see that there's no reason someone should think such bad things, but they can't see it themselves. If that somehow comes off as an insult, I don't mean it to!

Anyway, I am feeling pretty tense this evening. Housemate really pissing me off, as she keeps eating my things. Amongst other issues. She comes off like she's nice and wouldn't harm a fly but I think it's all an act so that no one calls her on anything. Hard to explain.

Plus just had an argument with the woman I sit next to in work, through text. She's being an eejit, and I pretty much called her on it, and yet she came back with defensiveness. Tomorrow should be fun :/ I'm going to try take my mind off things. It's so hard. Have jobs to look for and things to watch, so hopefully...

I very much appreciate that Gongoozler. I feel the same reading people's experiences here, we find it easier to feel that deep compassion when it's someone else. It's strange when you try to turn that compassion inwards and are met with resistance!

It sucks having to deal with the petty conflicts that you are atm but I just thought 'good on ye' for addressing the issues even if it causes discomfort in the present. It's a much better way to live than just pretending to be nice and having your boundaries close in.

@loveisdivine (don't know why i keep using the @symbol when addressing you)

The quote in that article has always rang true for me. It's a very odd feeling that I get sometimes that I'm almost afraid to wield any power at all, but I know its potentially there. Interesting link, keep em comin!

I got up today and started by making the bed. I never make the bed. I like the bed the way it is. All messy. The missus would be nagging away about it. So i made it today. A wise decision. That's Christmas sorted for her :D

    and new year:D
    and her birthday:D
    happy days
