Childhood sweethearts separating in their late 30's

I've seen a rash of this lately, many of our friends married their first loves from school/college & are now going through marriage difficulties as they near their 40's.
I suppose never have even slept with someone else would make anyone curious as the clock ticks on.
Better to shag everything that moves while you can then settle down in your early 30's.
Couple who came together this way seem to be stronger from what I can see.

All this is my own opinion & anecdotal, has anyone else spotted a similar trend ?.

Getting married at 18/19/20 was alright in the old days when the world was simple and there was bugger-all else to do, but is seldom a good idea these days. The world has become small, there's a lot going on, and people's horizons are much broader. Folk tend to be rather different people than they were at 20 by the onset of middle-age.

Yes, I have noticed this trend. While I appreciate there's pain involved for them and I don't wish the breakdowns on them, as a single man in his 40's I am greatly appreciative of all these women re-entering the market :cool:
