Self catering for week in july

Hi folks Spending a week in self catering in carlow in July. Not really that familiar with the area. Would love some recommendations of where to visit etc. Two kids age 7 and 11

My own suggestions would be a drive up the mountain from the Myshall direction. It will be busy up there at the moment though so leave yourself plenty of time.

Altamont Gardens outside Tullow, again it will be very busy.

Ducketts Grove just outside Carlow town.

Huntington Castle in Clonegal.

St Mullins, another very popular place. There is a great spot on the way to St Mullins that has a fantastic view of one of the weirs on the river.

Rathwood and The Chocolate Factory

Arboretum. It can get insanely busy here and in Rathwood.

Fishing.
