Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I contacted Motor Tax in Shannon and was informed that I will get a Letter or Email with a pin so that it can be renewed. As for my Sons bike it was never declared off road and to declare it off road now it will have to be taxed. Now to tax it the bike will have to be insured which would not be worth it as the bike is in bits at the moment. If he sells the bike to someone else they can declare it off road within 10 days of purchase. Hope this info helps someone else

Can u not just make up a insurance policy number so it can be taxed?

Someone in the motor tax office told me that works, they dont have any way of checking it, would have been around three years ago or so but i doubt anything has changed.

Why bother taxing a bike that's in bits just to declare it off road in a year?!?

When it's ready for the road again either sell it, or 'sell' it to a friend or relative and then 'buy' it back. No back tax due.

    Scrap the cap!
