Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Cheers Roy, get all those Liverpool boys back to Melwood on the next plane

We'd be better getting Luis back and wrapping his sumptuous Uruguayan self in cotton wool!!!

Hey, England could still get out of the group.

    Improbable...but not impossible.
If Italy win their last two games, and England beat Costa Rica, it'll come down to GD (three sides on three points each).

For £120m they can have him.

I actually don't think they will come this season.

England had them after the goal.

they went cautious and let it go.

    the team reflecting their manager.

How do people feel about Italy's chances against Uraguay? I have Italy in sweepstakes so I'm not entirely sure who to cheer for tonight :D

See there's a lot of psychology about these final games as well... It would be presumed that Italy would beat Costa Rica tomorrow and then be on six points... Then they rest their players, and dont try a leg in the last game giving Uruguay a better chance to beat them..

One goal caused by a miscontrol and a poxy nutmeg wasn't going to mask how **** England have been.
They've been awful to a man.

They might've gotten away with a draw but you would've have backed them to beat Costa Rica.

Uruguay are no world beaters but it's the same old hopeful/hopeless football from England, always spirited but no top drawer ball players. Suarez is on a level on his own tbh.

No top drawer players, then you mention one!

Boom, Suarez with the knockout punch.

    Take that Roy

Game decided by the one truly world class player on the pitch.

Game over. Suarez the difference with 2 lethal goals. England not good enough and will probably be heading home after the next game.

This is what happens when you get a very average manager in charge a good International team.

Yes the England players are vastly over rated but they are certainly better than this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,591 ✭✭✭✭Aidric

Not much between the teams all told. England outdone by two clinical finishes from a striker operating at a different level.

Suarez is the best player on the planet, better than Ronaldo or Messi. 6 weeks out and comes back and does that he is a GENIUS!!

Stevie G was absolutely abysmal tonight.
A complete joke of a captain tonight.

England won't get the goal difference to go through. Awful at the back and a lack of a holding CM will undo any attacking intent.

    Game over.

Gerrard to retire before the next game would help England

Sterling and Welbeck should be dropped

After the (mostly deserved) torrid time he got from the English media, you can't deny Suarez his moment here.

He went over to Tevez' house for breakfast one day.. :D

Got what we deserved; absolutely nothing. Awful, dire football. Uninspiring, no real threat. One small mercy; going out now is preferable to getting out of the group and getting a real smacking off a decent side.

A game won and lost in Liverpool

Luis Suarez is just brilliant for his wit and invention and technical skill.

Can't help but look at Suarez and think that inside he is thinking of the English media that berated him for so long.

Sterling at least was very good against Italy. Which is more than most of the rest who haven't had one decent game.

Best game I've seen Cavani play, tremendous work rate.

Love the eagerness to make a tackle from the Uruguayans.
