Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. How so? Thought they actually did OK tonight. Think Woy let the. Down more than anything with his tactics and team selection.

They have lost 2 games so how anyone can say they were OK tonight is beyond me.

Game was there for the taking and they blew it.

5 mins left, England a goal down and Hodgson sat on the bench staring at his watch. Sums him up perfectly.

who would be a good fit to take over this England team now, though?

For a guy just back from injury, that was pretty impressive from Suarez.

The holy trinity are putting on some show. Not very technical analysis but infinitely better than the dross on ITV.

Can't believe people are defending Gerrard's performances in the World Cup so far!

He has had a 5 min spell in each game where he had an impact on the game but was absolutely anonymous apart from that.

    The whole system just stinks.

Of course the game is going to run him by. He's 34 and playing in a 2-man midfield.

Lots of little decisions snowball into an atrocious performance. It suited England better to play relatively deep and hit Italy on the counter.

It suited Uruguay to do more or less the same today. While not a brilliant side defensively, they had enough to keep England's shabby, disorganised attack at bay for virtually the entire match.

Both are ****e at being asked to push forward and that's what you'd expect from a Roy Hodgson team and a Uruguay team with very little quality on the ball in midfield.

When asked whether Suarez belonged in the same "world-class" bracket as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, the England manager said: "I think he will only be at that level when he shows it on this particular stage.

First caller on BBC 606 mentions that Curbishley should be England manager.... :pac:

In fairness, Danny Murphy is fantastic yet again.

    #Rodgers for England.

They could do a lot worse than go with tail between legs for Rednapp.

I don't like the man but he is probably ideal for the job.

Would have to question Woy starting Welbeck out on the wing at international level.................surely they have a winger in the country that could have played there.

Giles talking a lot of crap tonight. There's rough and tough in plenty of parts of England too, they just are located in a country with a ****e football team.

Having Giles as an analyst in the world cup is a disgrace, his knowledge is limited to a few players who play in England and of back in his day...his day is long long gone.

Reminds me of this headline the other day.

Used to love when Moyes at Everton would slag Suarez pre game

Didn't think I'd see the day come so fast but I really think Sadler/Cunningham/Hamann would be a far stronger panel at this stage.

Did anyone notice at the end of the game, there was a mini-highlights package?

Both Uruguay goals were replayed, the second several times from multiple angles in real-time.

England's goal was not shown. Someone in the control room was clearly rubbing England's face in it :pac:

Roy Hodgson is a civil servant who somehow carved out a career in football.
