Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I fancy a draw and it will also give them both a wee bit of hope for their remaining game.

The sway the English media hold over the manager/team is laughable.

Why are people using the bookies as a guage on this one?

Surely bookies are being skewed by English backing their own time.

Sure they are near favourrites for many tournaments despite a dismal record.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,536 ✭✭✭Dolph Starbeam

England definitely in better form but I wouldn't be writing Uraguay off, they have a lethal attack who will pounce on any sloppy defending.

    2-2.

    England to win 4-1

Very sneaky by Hoddle, "Hart is head and shoulders above everyone".

Nah sure the bookies have obviously taken loads of Uruguyan money to balance that out. :pac::pac::pac:

Lugano being out is a big plus for Uruguay.

What a load of old rubbish from Dunphy about Rooney.... He tried to hold Ferguson and united to ransom, until they gave him 350k a week... Then got in a strop when Ferguson said something about "Van Persie being the number one striker".... He never looks fit, always looking like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders.... I would be thinking he's more a spoilt brat than a maligned martyr...

I heard he's on 500,000 a week and picks the Utd team.

Quick question - why does the thread title have bbc/itv when its only one of the stations showing the game?

    England to win 1-0.

As an Englishman I find it anything but laughable, to be honest. The manager and team are terrified of the stick they'll get off the media if they screw up tonight.

    Suarez fitness question mark.
Uruguay missing half their back line.
Uruguay were appalling against Costa Rica, despite going 1-0 up.
    England played well against Italy.

I dont fancy Suarez to do much tonight... He just doesnt look right... England to win by a goal, as long as Rooney isnt taking the corners...

I get it but unlike many here, I didn't find England that good against Italy.

Dunphy's at it again with his spiel about having conviction! God he loves that word! On a serious note, delighted to see Rooney start in his proper position tonight, praying he'll bag one to quieten all the critics.

Giles can never remember Gerrard having a good World Cup or Euros. He was probably England's best player in the last Euros.

They were okay against Italy, nothing more. Italy were fairly comfortable winners, to be honest.

I am posting from a non English pov. :D

I hope Rooney has a stinker tonight, although Hodgson will get the blame.

Gerrard seems a likeable enough lad

Giles gives Gerrard too much stick. Says he's not a Pirlo, but them compares him to Pirlo.

Pirlo had a good game last night, but he was poor when he dropped off Sterling for the England goal, and didn't wag a finger when Italy didn't have the ball. Not what he was there for, but he didn't have the complete game that Giles would make out.
