As such I am still receiving half rate carers but have not received respite grant. Been on the phone numerous times and getting different answers each time. Do I have to wait until the…

Hi all. My daughter turned 16 in may and we are currently going through the process of changing over from domicilary care to disability.
As such I am still receiving half rate carers but have not received respite grant.
Been on the phone numerous times and getting different answers each time.
Do I have to wait until the disability process (which can take months) is over before I can receive the grant. Nothing has changed in her care.
