Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The more I watch of this the more I hate this Greece team.

It's great stuff, steely determination. Polar opposite of the don't care attitude of Cameroon last night.

Greece have catenaccio down to a tee.

Playing defensively does not mean the above.

Kags making a big difference, great ball for last chance.

Kagawa has been impressive since coming on.

This determination of the Japanese and unwillingness to simply go down by the slightest contact is marvelous.

    So close!

    Japanese have upped the tempo.

Ffs Japan. You have to take one of these chances.

Have to say its nice to see honest play. Like to see the win as a reward for it too.

I wonder why that Endo chap never came to Europe? Seen him at the last two World Cups and he looked classy. He just has that composure and accurate passing that every team craves.

He picked up hepatitis C in India years ago, so that put a lot of teams off.

    Greece looking tired now.

As the weather girl from Dartland was saying, the Japanese have left their shîting bites at home.

    Another cross :/

Only negative for Japan is that the ref has only given one yellow card since the sending off. Should have been about 5

They're getting NOTHING from the ref!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,665 ✭✭✭✭Arghus

Just saw one of the Japanese brandishing an imaginary yellow card.

    Guys...

    Sure send in another cross...

This game is averaging more than a foul every 2 and a half minutes. Greece are beyond a disgrace, should be on at least a few more yellows and 10 mins injury time.

How on earth was that a free for Greece? The ref is having a nightmare !

Japs are toothless. Painful to watch.

Japan really have looked poor in the final third in this World Cup. Honda doesn't look anywhere close to where he was four years ago, Kagawa has completely lost his confidence I think since he went to United.

They're camped inside the Greece third and I haven't seen one decent effort into the box.

It's all just blindy firing in and hoping for the best.

God I really hope Japan score, Greece won't bring anything to the next round. Japanese much more enjoyable to watch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

The problem with Japan Arsenal is that they keep trying to walk cross it in.

    That referee is a disgrace.

First header the Greeks have missed.

    Ahhh

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,839 ✭✭✭Jelle1880

Sure, why not try crossing it again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

Greece should have 4 or 5 yellow cards at this stage the ref is shocking

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,665 ✭✭✭✭Arghus

The ref can't award free kicks to Greece fast enough.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,981 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

This is Honda's range. Lets see if he takes it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,775 ✭✭✭✭Gbear

I really don't have much sympathy with Japan here.

It's not like they keep hitting the woodwork. Their final ball is painfully bad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,981 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Just seeing Kagawa there again, he has to be crossing that ball back in first time, not looking up and turning around with the ball. He just seems to be lacking so much in confidence.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,683 ✭✭✭LightningBlue

Didn't even touch the keeper and he'd already given the free out, good job ref.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,375 ✭✭✭✭Oat23

Referee was putting the whistle in his mouth the second he saw the run being made by Yoshida to challenge the keeper. Hate that.

  • Registered Users Posts: 245 ✭✭Insane Rambling

Did the ref actually blow for that free out before the keeper was hit?

Honda has always been massively overrated on this forum and amongst EPL fans in general based on World Cup 2010 alone.

Well, if the ref had been doing his job, Greece would be down to 8 men.

The ref destroyed this match imo.

Didn't give half enough fouls to Japan.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,981 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

And how could there be only 4 minutes added on with all the stoppages and time wasted by Greece?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,775 ✭✭✭✭Gbear

And the Japanese would still be lumping crosses to nobody in particular.

These Japanese are good sports but ultimately they would not kill their granny.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,292 ✭✭✭GreNoLi

Fair play to the Greeks, a lot of 'granny killers' in their team.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,312 ✭✭✭✭Cienciano

Well, that was worth staying up for :pac:
