Thread was deleted for a reason.

Over me head- I just picked a comment and made a joke; didn't think there was a whole story behind it- sorry:o

    Reference was from Black Adder:o

Ah, no worries. Was an odd little thread started in here last night. had to be deleted as it was in no way suited for this forum

    I survived, yay!

Aforementioned idiots missed the bus on the way home so I had a little nap. Really glad I went, I really didn't want my brother to miss out. He had a ball. Arctic Monkeys are quite good I must say. Much better than Electric Picnic too, and they were good that night. Miles Kane and Jake Bugg were the support acts, we missed the first band, no clue who they were. Both Miles Kane and Alex Turner were born to be front men. Jake Bugg is more unassuming but very talented.

Hope you guys are all well :)

good to hear you're ok:) nice that you're been kept going..nothing worse than being bored!

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators, Regional West Moderators Posts: 60,259 Mod ✭✭✭✭Gremlinertia

Blog was just my take on things that were happening in the world or me personally, little rants to get stuff off my chest. Sometimes my battles with my health too.
Yeah job is cool like that, I'll always find stuff to do that was left behind by others..

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,604 ✭✭✭writer_lady170

ah that's cool, pretty much the same here :)

that's good:) how do you find working nights?

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators, Regional West Moderators Posts: 60,259 Mod ✭✭✭✭Gremlinertia

I prefer nights - I can be a bit blunt so it's safer for me not to be working with too many people.. Sounds harsh but it's the way I've become, I just do my job and then I finish and I leave the place. I used to get too consumed with what I was doing so that it became everything I was about.

that's ok:) totally understand that, I'm not very social with people around:o

I just stopped being social in work because then I brought work with me everywhere - I need more me time.. I never gave myself any for most of my adult life and it's affected me quite a bit. I consider myself something of a project now. Bit late but feck it..

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,604 ✭✭✭writer_lady170

good attitude to have:) I'd say the bringing work everywhere is quite common, haven't worked myself but i'd say it would be hard to 'switch off'. It's great to get me time:)

I'm not very social cos I have an anxiety disorder and something called 'asperger's so it's quite hard to socialise with people. I'm ok with one to one but groups i can do but find them stressful at times

Have a couple of issues myself hence the work taking a back seat.. Psychologist said something along a personality disorder, as yet to be determined exactly what.. Also medicated for depression and anxiety. I don't really make plans to meet people because I instantly feel pressure, I just kind of turn up in places and if they are there so be it.. Odd I guess but it works.

If you don't mind me asking, did it take you a long time to get the aspergers diagnosis?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,604 ✭✭✭writer_lady170

ahh ok, I hope they find out exactly what it is:) That's good it works for you with meeting people

no problem:) I don't mind at all, it took a while before my diagnosis was made, I was 15 when I got it eventually. Back them little was known about asperger's so my mom was frequently told I would grow out of it or blame it on parenting so there was many a doctors trip over the years. Having said that though, once I accepted it, I haven't looked back since:)

It was good to find out I wasn't getting locked up as I was very paranoid about that happening. The staff in the hospital are pretty good but the administration of my care is poor at best.. However I won't go into a rant about that here!.

It's good you got the diagnosis early. I can think of a couple of people I've met over the years that would have an issue but doctors wouldn't have known or experienced enough to see it.. The mind is both marvellous and endlessly frustrating.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,604 ✭✭✭writer_lady170

that's good you aren't:) phew! I'm glad that that the hospital staff are good, some that i met were terribly rude! I get ya there on the administration, I hope things improve.

Did it take long to get your diagnosis, if you don't mind me asking?

yeah it's good I was diagnosed early, I know of a few people who got diagnosed a lot later than myself, a lady was on the radio talking about it a few days ago who was diagnosed with it at 35 ( i think). I totally agree about the mind, find it all fascinating:)

Years. Mainly because initially I didn't see it, too wrapped in working my ass off and helping others.. Basically ignoring myself.. Not believing mental health was a thing since I came from a very rural background.. I'm only working on it the last about four years I think.
