Tiling kitchen

    Hi there,

We have a kitchen measuring 13.5 foot by 19 foot and want to get this area tiled.

We have tiles picked out, 600 x 600 porcelain.

We need a tiler to supply and fit plywood as it's a wooden floor underneath and then to tile the area.

We have received two very different quotes. One is reasonable and in line with our (naive?) expectation and the other, nearly double the price.

    Any ideas on costs roughly?

    Other factors:

kick board may need to be sanded down and tiles placed to overlap slightly.

There is a water pipe in the corner for the fridge that will need to be exposed in the corner

There is a French door opening and a door from the hall way.

Floor is level and doesn't require special treatment however plywood or mat needs to be put down and flexible adhesive used as it is a wooden floor underneath and not concrete (stated by both quotes)

    Any advice/opinion greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
