Not a gig man but have flights booked for London vs Sligo game in May. Taking the little man on the plane for first time so looking forward to it. Then off the following week to Lake Garda for 2 weeks on the family holiday.

Work were super impressed with me requesting all this leave in the one month :D

I'm good but thanks for the offer. Three people all gave me the exact same results back, so I'm feeling a bit justified at the moment when I say I know something is wrong with the listings :pac:

What are people’s personal favorite movie? Singular.. Not the greatest movie ever made etc but just for one reason or another your fav?

Mine would be Inside Man Denzel Washington. Love it!
Scarface or Django Unchained, although this could all change over Christmas!

What's the best comedy of all time in your opinion lads?

Surely Dumb and Dumber had to be in with a shout.

    Oh Mac, I love you.

That's easily one of my favorite films of all time, and such a perfect heist film. Rewatch it regularly.

Others off the top of my head then....

    Truman Show
Jingle All the Way (this is THE Christmas movie for me :P)
    Back to the Future trilogy
It’s quality!! Start to finish your intrigued! Clive Owen was excellent!

    Airplane
    Hot Shots (both)
    Naked Gun (2 especially)
    Blazing Saddles

    There's so many classic contenders

That's about right. And if you haven't watched Police Squad that Naked Gun is a follow on from, then you need to remedy that now

I loved Police Squad, it was a shame it only got the 6 episodes or so.

I love Naked Gun, and also well up there for me are the Monty Python films, mostly Life of Brian and Holy Grail.

Impossible to pick one but Blazing Saddles & Young Frankenstein for me, with Dumb and Dumber and The Waterboy coming right behind. I'd say The Waterboy is my most quoted film personally. Every single time someone says "you can do it" my head says "cut his f***ing head off" immediately after.

One of the great comedies was added to Netflix today Midnight Run.

That's a great set of gigs you have lined up next June PTH2009.

I find myself agreeing with all of you. Must be the Christmas spirit.

    Airplane,
    Naked Gun 1-3,
    Borat.

Could probably think of more, Borat doesn't get enough love though.

    Ugh... I hated Borat.

Didn't mind Ali G just hated Borat passionately.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,869 ✭✭✭ShagNastii

Borat is top 10 for sure.

I never saw the big deal with Borat really. Never seemed as good as people kept telling me it was.

It took me far too long to find out the "Here comes Mongo!" bit from the start of Botchamania wasn't just about McMichael in WCW, and was from Blazing Saddles. It was probably properly in an episode at some point, but I haven't seen it if it was.

I'm 5 stages in pretty good to be honest. For streets of rage anyway. They're a bit muck for Sonic but I haven't played that since I got it so upgrades might have solved it

Down through the years I usually had a top 5 of movies that would rotate in placing before occasionally one would drop out of them to be replaced by another. The one movie that never dropped out of my top 5 and that I believe deserves more love from people (or at the very least to have been seen by more people) is True Romance.

Anyone put off by the title remember it's written by Quentin Tarantino (Directed by Tony Scott)

plus the cast, my gawd what a cast.

    Christian Slater
    Brad Pitt
    Val Kilmer
    James Gandolfini
    Christopher Walken
    Dennis Hopper
    Patricia Arquette
    Gary Oldman
    Bronson Pinchot
    Michael Rapaport
    Samuel L Jackson
    Chris Penn
    Tom Sizemore
