Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Pirlo should have done more.

    What.....
This is St.Pirlo you are talking about.
    You can't criticise him.

The ref is brutal, I fear for Costa Rica's chances of going on to win this

It was a great header from Ruiz. Totally deserved after the referee bottled the penalty decision.

I blame Mr. Irving for Costa Rica taking the lead. Worrasap.

I'd love to stitch Robbie Savages lips together. Boring me to death

The English just have to remain positive and still believe that they can still get out of this group. Lol.

If Costa Rica win today then one of Italy and Uruguary are going out.

    Think about it.

Great to see Costa Rica get a deserved lead, how the ref did not give the penalty is beyond me

Does the goal line technology instantly send a signal to the referee? Or do they have to wait for the replay?

What is going to happen so if the linesman/ref doesn't give a goal and it does go over the line?

Fingers crossed CR hold on now, that would be an epic match if that were the case.

Yes I believe the referee knows within 2 seconds If it's goal or no goal.

Ref gets a signal instantly, no issues.

Ref's watch immediately lets him know whether it's a goal

England will probably find that Italy get back in this game and win, only to lose by another one goal margin to Costa Rica.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,916 ✭✭✭Brian017

Would have been interesting to see if the ref would've given that goal if there was no goal line technology

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,522 ✭✭✭tigger123

How that was never a pen is beyond me. Justice though!

Just a pity that watch looks like a Tiger LCD game from 1994.

don't think it would've, Buffon was in the way of the assistant's view.

Costa Rica blowing any argument of lack of talent in the England ranks completely out of the water.

    The ref is very bad.

Balotelli and Candreva have been poor. Italy could do with bringing on Immobile or Insigne for either.

Cassano's already made a difference since he came on.

Hodgson the problem for me, the British media a big part of it too

Insigne coming on, have to throw Immobile on as well you'd think.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,133 ✭✭✭Stevecw

Italy in serious trouble here, Costa Rica are way better than any of us expected. Decent side

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,683 ✭✭✭LightningBlue

Insigne on for Candreva. Called it.

Immobile will be on in the next 10 possibly for Balotelli, maybe even Marchisio if Italy go for broke.
