Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Can't agree they're playing well. They've had only one or two sniffs of the goal, Iran have almost had as many chances. The bigger teams won't be scared looking at this game or the Bosnian game.

Bigger teams won't be scared of Argentina regardless, but they wouldn't want to be facing Iran either.

No they are not... they are extremely lacking in talent and are still keeping in games against opposition with much bigger names.

To be honest if anything, relative to their talent level Argentina have been pretty awful the first 2.5 games of this tournament.

Is this not their second game?

Do they play that Pharrell Williams song for the duration of half time? In every game?

I think I'm jinxed. Every first goalscorer bet I make results in the player having an absolute mare. It's my fault Higuain has been so bad...

Kun should score. Great ball from Rojo.

Either side of the keeper and Iran score.

Put Argentina in England's group and I don't think they get through, going by this. They are beginning to border on being an outright disgrace.

Dejagah should keep berating the ref...he is just on the verge of awarding it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,316 ✭✭✭kevohmsford

Zabaleta was lucky. Should have been a penalty for Iran.

How did Dejagah escape a booking there. Looked like he was about to rugby tackle the ref

Absolutely ridiculous to be still waiting to see a replay, of that excellent chance Iran had 4-5 minutes minutes ago.

He got the ball. . .

Argentina are doing the bare minimum to get through. Iran are playing to their strengths, 11 men behind the ball. Crap.

Gago again, he's so bad. How he gets into the team is beyond me

    Finally, we see the replay.

Hopefully this finishes 0-0 at worst. Argentina deserve absolutely nothing. But given the football gods are cruel.. Messi 92nd minute winner and be heralded as a hero.. for beating Iran 1-0.

Dejagah clearly touched the ball away and Zabaleta fouled him.

Disgrace??? What are you on about?
They are playing a team with 10 men behind the ball. Its not easy to break down. Iran got a chance by a very good run and good cross, and now some people think Argentina are a outright disgrace.

Sure it was the same in the first game, the first half, many on boards said argies and messi are terrible. But bang goal by messi, then 3 points against a good Bosnian team, job done

Now I dont think Argentina are looking excellent in the two games, but the way people go on here, is like they are going home as england and spain are.
Even if this game ends in a draw, 4points, with Nigeria to play. Not the worst!

They have been the most impressive of the 3 favourites. And they have been terrible

  • Site Banned Posts: 26,456 ✭✭✭✭Nuri Sahin

Queiroz is going nuts on the bench.

I originally wasn't too bothered about who won this, but now I'd love to see Iran get a result.

The way this World Cup is going I have no idea who will win.

    Costa Rica maybe.

I am finding it kind of interesting even if the football is poor. Doubt they hold out, but if Iran get a draw here would that be the biggest upset in WC history (or at least in the modern game, post '66). They've nearly gone ahead again now!

Argentina are doing less than the bare minimum. They are doing sh**e, pure and simple. Messi has again been largely invisible... against bloody Iran!

    Come on Iran!!!!
