Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That is incredibly undeserved but what a way to win a game.

Funny how the ref doesn't tell the Argies to hurry up when making a sub.

Rojo, di maria and Romero the only Argentina players who've played well.

Great finish by messi but he's done f all today besides.

Damned shame that. Iran had played really well, and could have won it if they'd had a half decent striker playing for them.

Messi has been quiet in both games but he really is capable of moments like that. Di Maria on the other hand has been very disappointing thus far.

I don't think I'm alone in thinking he was poised take the limelight from Messi this year but just hasn't carried this seasons form over yet.

The goal was technically perfect, no question but it was scored by someone who frankly seems to be a snidy type to me and in the context of Argentina being "out chanced" by Iran. IRAN!

Messi saves Argentina and picks Irans pocket. Great play by Iran, they have a few very neat and talented players.

I noticed you havent replied to my last post...
You just have loads of hate for messi, and a lot of love for Ronaldo.
Why cant you just say the both of them are the best, but not perfect.
They cant play well in every game.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,839 ✭✭✭Jelle1880

Very harsh for Iran, but what can you do against such a goal...

Quiet? He's been completely anonymous, besides popping up with the two goals he'd as well not be on the pitch

This "he's done nothing all game though" is utter shíte.

Sure he scored the winning goal, that's all he needed to do

He's so frustrating when he plays for Argentina...I honestly think they'd do better if Lavezzi was starting instead of him. Messi is obviously miles better, but he can be so so selfish, trying to do everything himself. He's just not on the same wavelength as his teammates.

Argentina have two wins already though without even trying. The bright starters at the world cup often tend to fade out by the latter stages, the teams who win usually start slow like Argentina have done.

Oh I agree, he didn't have anything approaching a good game but he is genuinely world class and capable of those moments which is why he remains on the pitch.

Struggle to feel sorry for Iran when they parked the bus for the vast majority of that game making it a ****e watch

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,673 ✭✭✭AllGunsBlazing

Had that goal come from the boot of any other player I'd have been raging for the sake of Iran. But it's Messi, and really what can you say?
