Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi guys,

Ive got a very frustrating problem with my GN250.
As per the title its slipping for a split second at 6000rpm in third gear only then continues as normal.
Ive brought it to a mechanic and he did a full service and tune up but its still doing it although not as bad as before.
Im bringing it back to him but he is reluctant to have another look because I couldnt find anything wrong with it the first time.
It does it uphills and also on the flat and its driving me nuts and I believe it could be quite dangerous if it happened on a turn or what not.

Anyone every hear of anything like this happening or have it happen to them and was it fixable??
Id appreciate any feedback.....apart from feedback about GN250 being rubbish.
    Thanks

Is there any slack on your clutch cable, could be too tight?

clutch is the most obvious culprit, if the mechanic didn't check that id be looking for another mechanic. the wrong type of engine oil can also cause slipping.

I'd agree that the clutch sounds like the culprit...and the wrong type of oil and cause the clutch to slip.

^^ spot on advice. it can ocure by simply changing oil for diffrenet brand.

my second advice is change mechanic asap. if you know there is somehting wrong and he is saying there is not, well find a place where they gonna suit you better.

i had similar issue.. what i did is a simple changed the oil for diff viscosity - as well as i disambled the clutch and cleaned her. i went for semi-synth motul 5100 and the problem was gone. easy and cheap fix.

hint: i hope you have wett clutch... if not none of this apply.
