Adoption query - Property

When a child is adopted they gain property rights to the property of their new parents. Do they remain strangers in law as far as property rights to other family members such as grandparents, uncles aunts etc Are they legally not grandchildren or niece, nephew to their new family ?

They become the new parents legal children and are therefore legal members of all the extended family.
