Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Do men like crazy/unnatural hair colours on women?

Personally I notice a pretty face first then eyes.

If she had neon blue hair, i guarantee you'd notice that first!

Personally it depends on the person. having green hair can look really nice on one person and god awful on another.

Personally, short dark hair on a girl does it for me. Hipster heavy framed glasses are optional but encouraged.

I don't think anyone disagrees that inner beauty is more attractive long-term.

But you'll obviously notice the person in the first place as a result of their physical attractiveness. That in turn will decide if you approach them and discover whether they have the personality/sense of humor etc to go with it

If you don't "fancy" them at some level from the first moment you won't be bothered finding out any more.

I have hair as black as the ace of spades. I'd love an indigo/deep blue hue but for now I'll just stick to henna-ing it during the summer when my hair goes slightly brown. :( I like the blackness.

I know a lady with bright red hair and I am just mad about it. I think if you can pull it off, more power to you.

Hair colour won't dissuade me, it's only hair at the end of the day.

Personality is obviously very important but a great personality is not going to matter much if you find the person very unattractive physically.

It's not a real big issue don't think most men pay to much attention to hair.

Then are you not doing the same?

I'm not saying all, but I don't believe most pay to attention to hair as lots of the time it might not even be real.

Has a lot to do with the age of the person imo.

Might look well on a fit 23 year old but aging "im still cool and young look at my blue hair!" in your 30's and 40's is a definite neddy no no.

It's similar to men and the aging "i'm still cool and young look at my leather pants, ridiculously low cut t-shirt and no I don't hide my receding hair line hairstyle!"

When is leather pants cool? If your on a motorbike fine. But I think on men of all ages leather pants is a no no.

Well, someone might not like it aesthetically. Think it's unfair to insinuate they're closed-minded because of that.

To add to this, I'm just not crazy about how tattoos look. Totally cool with people having them, I just don't like them. I can't make myself. Does this make me closed-minded?

Having said that, I'm not sure I'd turn down a bloke because he has a tattoo. If it was very visible, I might well do. A hidden one, I could probably overlook. It's never come up though.

I don't think your close minded, I have full sleeve on my arm but I think some piercings detract from a person especially the ones which are just metal under the skin.

Doesn't make sense to me but everybody has their own thing.

The boyfriend would love if I dyed my hair a crazy colour, he often asks me to dye it purple or blue or whatever. If I didn't run the risk of being sacked, I totally would, too.

Some girls pull it off really well, but it looks terrible if she's destroyed her hair from all the bleach.

Charm + good looks + tattoo (a nice one I must add) = great combo :D

The downfall - the above described species of men don't tend to fancy me.
Might get some ink after all... :pac:

it happens me quite a lot. It makes the commute more tolerable, especially on a Monday morning. Mostly I tend to fall in love with some of the Aisan women I see on the Metropolitian line:D Truly some of them are stunning, with their black hair and brown eyes. Sure, how could I not fall in love with them?

A streak of color or highlights can make a woman look a lot more attractive. If your gonna dye your whole head a bright color though, you may as well stick a little sign on your forehead saying "i crave attention". There's been a girl with a full head of bright red hair on my team in two of the last three offices I worked in and besides the fact that this hair style belongs to 1998, I believe judging from those two girls that it's an attempt to compensate for a dull and uninteresting personality.

The lady friend has purple hair, just the front half anyway. She's not high maintenence and I think it looks fantastic.
Yeh I got my hair dyed the dark pinky red because I saw a singer with it and a writer with it too (Jonathan Ross's wife) and just loved it and thought it looked amazing. It turned out to suit me so I gave it a shot for about two years, then it was time to revitalise my poor gruaig. :pac:

A lot of people have this attiude towards people with unusual hair colours, I don't get it! Ever thought they might dye their hair like that because they think it looks nice?

I agree, it's a bit narrow minded IMO. When I had red and purple hair years ago it was because I simply liked the colours. I wasn't craving attention.

I have a mad colour in my hair at the moment and it is no way for attention. It's cos I like it. Anything better than dark turning grey.

Yeah, unfortunately 9 times out of 10 the woman attached to the blue or pink hair is an obese goth though.

God ya. I agree. Cheek of them. Obese women should just hide themselves instead of trying to express themselves or do something to make them feel good. Why do you care who does it or why?

I dye my hair pink because I want pink hair. Do you not have your hair how you want it? Same thing.

  • Registered Users Posts: 63 ✭✭Linka

Personally, I wouldn't be a fan. While I understand that its a choice anyone is entitled to make, it doesn't suit everyone. There is no way that I could get away with pink or blue hair (nor would I want to!). Face shape and eye colouring are two factors that should be considered before picking up the dye bottle. Which brings me to another point, I think much better results would be achieved by having it done professional. Rarely does a home dye kit look well, just cheap and nasty looking.

What are people's thoughts on shaven-headed (buzz-cut) women?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,491 ✭✭✭looking_around

I love colourful hair on men and women ^^.
    __
I've died my hair quite a bit.
Planning to shave it off soon, as it's just weak and damaged, which is an unfortunate side affect.

So I'd suggest anyone wanting colourful hair, to use wigs or hair clips, save your hair from getting "straw" like and split ends galore.

Not a problem, I used to have a thing for Sinnead. And yes; I found her personality attractive - far cry from the woman portrayed in the media. I dated a couple of girls who wore wigs - no problem at all.
