Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi

I'm female, size 10-12 and 5'6. I am pretty thin although I do have some cushioning around my hips and I do have a bit of a stomach which I'd like to get rid of.

I don't want to have abs or anything like it, I simply want to tone up and lose the fat on my hips and that's it as my hips/stomach are the only places I have extra fat.

I don't have the best diet, and thinking about my diet is what prompted me to start this thread as it is embarrassing, as is the lack of exercise. I do get very bloated after eating, no matter what it is I eat and I'm sick of it.

I have a wedding at the end of the summer and would ideally like to have lost a bit or most of my stomach by then and hopefully won't have as much bloating either.

I don't have any money for gyms/classes unfortunately, so the exercises need to be free and something I can do at home. I do have some 3kg weights I can use but it is the only equipment I have to use.

I would appreciate any help with this.

Breakfast: I don’t always eat breakfast but when I do it’s normally one of the following:

Porridge cooked in water, and then poured into a bowl with a small amount of milk and a teaspoon of sugar or sometimes its grilled bacon, scrambled or poached eggs and brown bread.

Lunch: Usually just whatever is in the house, so it could be pasta, soup and brown bread, sandwich, pizza, tuna (tinned) mixed with mayonnaise, cucumber and scallions and spread on brown bread or on Ryvita crackers.

Dinner: Pasta, meat and veg (maybe chicken, carrots, potatoes etc.), roast dinner, cottage pie, chops and veg, stir fries, stews, lasagne, steak and potatoes, bacon, cabbage, spuds etc. We tend to stick with this variety as it’s what we like.

Snacks could be anything, fruit, biscuits, chocolate, sweets, crisps, and there are days when I don’t snack at all. For the past number of days I haven’t really been snacking but then tomorrow I could spend all day snacking, so it tends to come in waves.

Log your food in a website like myfitnesspal.

Work out how many calories you should be eating from the stickies here.

I do that and myfitness pal has me at 1210 calories per day.

I am looking for information on exercises, not diet. I am fully aware that I need to change my diet and it is something I am currently working on, I am looking for help and advice on various exercises that I should be doing to tone up.

Well if you're eating 1210 calories a day then YES you need info on diet.

That is too low amount to be eating. Read the stickies here.

Strength/weight training will help you 'tone' up.
