Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Wow! When did the forum happened? Will all the old EV threads be moved here from the mother forum?

Well done on the new forum.

Shouldn't hybrids be included here also ? , especially considering the trolling that goes on elsewhere .

Yeah it's a long sought after part of boards, though at least the E.V haters finally gave up on giving me a hard time for posting in the "motors" section.

They know I wasn't going to be silenced ! haha.

    Thanks Boards.ie !

I see that VW Ireland are listing their eGolf @ €42,600 [less €10000 vrt and sei grants = €32600???] It will be interesting to see if they will list the Plug-in Golf GTE?. I have an imported Plug-in Prius but Toyota Ireland don't list it. Hopefully they will, as other makers' Plug-ins are becoming more available?

  • Registered Users Posts: 57 ✭✭hsilgnede

Hows that compare with the price of a regular golf? Round the same I imagine.

    it's 33,400 Euro's out the door !!!

The Leaf is about 8 K cheaper @28K out the door when you include the extra kit it has over the Golf.

The Golf maybe nice but it's not nearly worth 8K more IMO !!!

    What's regular ?

    Bog Spec 1.6 TDI ?

The E-Golf in fairness is a good bit higher spec.

It's about 4 k more expensive than the 1.6 TDI Highline DSG and about 1 K more than the 2.0L TDI 150 DSG, given that there is no gearbox in the EV.

A plug in, unless it has a large enough battery is not so useful. It will always help to reduce fuel consumption but at what price ?

What's your average (per tank ) consumption in the plug-in Prius ?

With plug ins such as the GTE if you're going to be on leccy 98% of the time, why do you need to carry around an engine ?

I'd rather more battery for the money.

The GTE will only make a appearance around the middle of next year ..

The Audi Etron is priced at 40000 euro after grants on Audi.ie so the Golf gte is probably around 37500 euro

It's there already. A link to the Renault ZE range as they have more than one car.

Thanks for that but I thought the Fluence had gone, leaving the Zoe the only Car. Twizzy is a quadroped, Kangoo is a Van?
The other Manufacturers Cars get a mention up front?

Might be worth updating the Renault info re the new Zoe Nav, new motor, from Formula E research, extended range, and £10 k off the purchase price. (Renault UK)
Well done to all on the success of forum, pity new EV manufactures taking too long to enter the Rep market with massive emphasis on Leaf, with its ongoing AC charging problems?

I can't see any mention of the Nav? Perhaps it will have it's own thread one day on Boards.

Was the Prius PHEV ever sold in Ireland? Toyota don't currently list it on their site, and the only used one I've seen for sale so far was a UK import. Maybe should be removed from the first post if this is the case.

No the Toyota Prius PHEV was never sold in Ireland. It was a ridiculous price and makes the 30 Kwh Leaf look like a bargain with a vastly larger battery too !

I believe the i-MiEV (and I assume the PSA derivatives) has gone out of production, and the Ampera and Prius Plug-in were never sold here. There's a good few more cars available now.

Tesla Model S and X should be added.
