The Garda club is still there

Ok, was sold recently. Is it still open?

    http://www.irishtimes.com/life-and-style/homes-and-property/around-the-block-sale-of-garda-club-signals-end-of-an-era-1.1739117

Attended a 40th there a few years ago. Early 90s was one place to go for a bogger pre-coppers.

What was the place in templeogue at the roundabout?

Also mr pussys, nights at the gaiety were good for a late bar and salsa.

    Sacks aka "jurassic park"

I also saw mention of itchy feet a serious - OMG.

If anyone is from that parish, what was the pub/club/disco bar where Blades is now - nearly sure the bar/club was owned by the late Paddy Belton?

Someone mentioned The Kitchen earlier. I know it had its heyday in the 90s and was closed for years. I have a vague memory of it reopening 4/5 years back and I drunkenly ended up there one night. Is it closed now? I presume that The Liquor Rooms has taken the space occupied by The Kitchen just with the entraces switched from Essex St to the quays?

The strangest thing about old Dublin nightclubs was the slop that they called "curry" that they served at the end of the night.

Ha ha, it was something to do with the licence. Very weird.

Anyone remember the name of the disco bar in Temple bar, I think it was on Crow Street? It had 2 entrances from different streets? Very pokey and the roof was really low but it was always pretty lively iirc..

I think you're talking about Danger Doyles with Switch underneath it in the basement, now known as The Mezz.

Remember Bodytonic had nights in the Tivoli? I can remember leaving the place at 6am a couple of times, one of them being after a huge warehouse rave down by The Point had been shut down earlier the same night.

    Good times.

At the end of the night the house lights would come on and the place wouldn't look half as good.

The effect of the house lights coming on would make your Marilyn Monroe look like Marilyn Manson.

I remember the apartment nightclub because they used to play a dance version of the theme song to the children's programme'rainbow',at the time I thought it was the business.

Spent a lot of time there as a teenager, graduated to Fibbers which is still around although I haven't been in there in years. Always preferred Fibbers to Bruxelles.

Spent a lot of time in the Back Gate just off Cathal Brugha St and the Parnell Mooney and a club on Leeson St called Velvet I think, it would have been in the mid 90's.
