Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Two Italian teams in tough spots. Fiorentina totally the architects of their own downfall, missed loads of chances & didn't react to the problems out wide.

Can't believe this decision cost me on my coupon.

An absolute howler of a decision by the ref.

It's about as bad an offside call you'll see.

Look at the official though. How the hell did he miss that?

Correct me if I'm wrong here, don't Napoli actually have a history of big bizarre decisions going against them in Europe?

Or, am I thinking of some other Italian club?

Not familiar with Fiorentina this season but playing Salah and Joaquin (:D) with little or no defensive responsibilities was a stupid stupid move.

Emery is a clever fecker and was all over that pushing both FBs on and 2 goals from one of them was the result.

Tough for Napoli after that goal from last week. Hoping Rafa has something up his sleeve.

Anyone's guess. The other tie is so tough to call, I'd say next goal wins it.

    Deserved goal for dnipro

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,558 ✭✭✭✭dreamers75

Dnipro would be my preferred team to win this.

Nice header, no change to Napoli tho still in same positiuon as kick off.

Dnipro a horrible team. Time wasting from the start. Don't know how they are ahead in this game - actually I do, Britos and the Napoli defence are up to their old tricks.
Hope to god Napoli can find a goal, Higuain could have had a hatrick. Sevilla would destroy Dnipro in final

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,406 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

They could play for another three days and Napoli wouldn't score. Dnipro have just been destined to go through, rode their luck countless times and fair play to them. The ridiculous offside goal in the first leg crucial ultimately.

Not Dnipro's fault that Napoli wasted their numerous chances over the two legs to be fair.

Why was Hamsik benched? Unless unfit, poor decision to not start him.

He went off injured over the weekend, not fully fit.

Napoli really rushing everything. There are clear openings in Dnipro's defense, Napoli just aren't being patient/cohesive enough to take advantage.

Fuuuck, how can the final ball be so consistently rubbish!?

Frustrating to watch; playing like idiots. Watching this game I'm thinking this is why they didn't make the Champions League. Woefully inconsistent even without the dumb rotation

    Crazy Dnipro still attacking.

Higuain has been utterly poisonous over the two legs.

Hamsik use to be such a big talent, what ever happened him.

Well that's football. Sevilla will mash them in the final.

Very poor from Napoli. Rafa over the 2 years hasn't done a great job. Taken them backwards.

Napoli's own fault they were unlucky with the away goal they conceded but they made every mistake they could & just didn't put up the fight there. That's a team that
should have been playing in the Champions League this season but weren't we saw why tonight

They have some great attackers but average midfielders/defenders

Poor finishing from Napoli cost them. Your too biased towards Rafa at times imo.

I'm not sure it's Rafa's fault Higuain missed four sitters over the two legs either but hey.

Happy for Dnipro, Ukraine as a country deserve some good news for once.

Do think that's true. The place was rocking too the entire game.

I'm about to ask a very convoluted question, but a pertinent one so hopefully you'll stay with me!

With either Barca or Juve qualifying for next season's CL through their leagues anyway, the EL winners are guaranteed a place in next season's CL group stage. So...

If EL winners finish outside CL qualification places, no change to CL admissions (there can be 5 teams per country in CL from next year so if Sevilla win EL and finish 5th, 4th-place team in La Liga will still enter CL play-offs).

If EL winners qualify for CL group stage through their league, it bumps up champions from other countries in CL qualifiers.

But if EL winners qualify for CL play-offs through their league (ie Sevilla come 4th in La Liga or Dnipro 2nd in Ukraine), does that mean 5th in La Liga or 3rd in Ukraine takes the CL play-off berth vacated by EL winner qualifying for CL group stage?
