    Hi Folks,

I posted here previously about us buying a house and moving out from our rented house . We are currently waiting on the vendors Solicitors to send the contracts to our solicitor and these are expected to be received this week . We have all our forms back to the bank and we are just waiting on a closing date so that the life assurance can be activated.

The estate agent has told us to go ahead and hand in our notice as the sale will turn around quickly (the house is vacant and there is no chain ), we are 15 months in the rented house so we have to give 42 days notice

We are worried that if we go ahead and hand in our notice that something will go wrong or be delayed and we will end up with no where to live albeit for maybe a short time . We have a young child so we want to be careful with how we time this also our landlord wouldn't be the most helpful or sympathetic of people

Any advice would be much appreciated !

    Hi,

    Congrats!!

We are in almost the exact same situation.

We have been sale agreed before and let down :(

The advice from our solicitor is to give notice when both parties have signed. Then you are pretty certain it will go ahead.

While you may have an overlap in rent/ mortgage, given the increased rental prices, for us we could rather that than have to find somewhere new to rent with a higher price :)

Talk to your landlord, see what can be arranged. You can't easily move out until after you've moved in to the new place anyway.
