Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Most of us I think are just glad to be back in the thing!

I'd take Porto, Dortmund and Anderlecht.

On that note, two Portuguese teams in pot A?

Well Benfica were in 2 Europa L finals in a row, slightly suprised Porto squeezed in ahead of Dortmund. Arsenal are pretty much in same boat as Porto really have not made past last 16 in 5 years how come you don't give them a shout out?

My heart sank when Schmeichal said 'over the next hour or so we'll find out how the draw for the group stage of the CL goes'.

I know it's an elongated piece of crap but since it's a few years since I've actually watched the draw (I wonder why?) I had forgotten just how bloated.

Yeah, was wondering if the Europa Cup counted for it.

Arsenal I assumed was down to English club, all though the last couple of seasons weren't great.

Yep it was confusing, because A,B and E were available. And only Arsenal were in C. But there were automatically put into E.

But Chelsea and Arsenal were already separated after Pot 1. Only Liverpool and Man City remained from the other pots.

WTF is with this draw, how come we were only 1 of 3 that could get Monaco? They might as well just fix the draw the way they are doing this

It is to do with days played. Groups A to D play one day, groups E to F play the other. Has to be two English teams in each set.

feck, that is one tough group. Although Anderlecht is probably better than a very weak team, they could take points from the other teams and make the group more open.

Ok but, before Man City were being drawn out, only Arsenal and Chelsea were seperated. So Man City should have been able to go in either side of the days. When they were drawn out, apart from going into the groups that Arsenal and Chelsea had, there was the option to go into A, B and E. Yet they were automatically put into E. Liverpool hadn't been drawn out at this stage.

    Group A: Atletico Madrid/Juventus/Olympiakos/Malmo
    Group B: Real Madrid/Basel/Liverpool/Ludogorets Razgrad
    Group C: Benfica/Zenit/Beyer Leverkusen/Monaco
    Group D:Arsenal/Borussia Dortmund/Galatasary/Anderlecht
    Group E: Bayern Munich/Man City/CSKA/Roma
    Group F: Barcelona/PGS/Ajax/Apoel Nicosia
    Group G: Chelsea/Schalke/Sporting Lisbon/Maribor
    Group H: Porto/Shaktar/Bilbao/Bate Borisov

Very happy with that draw. Should have no real excuses not to progress assuming a home win to Basel.

While not watching the draw, presumably this had something to do with the other teams in the pot and their compatibility with that group.
