    Hey, i'm looking to head to NZ for a months holiday, and then move to Australia. I'm in the process of putting an EOI together for a 189 visa, but I wont have this visa by the time I plan on entering Australia at the end of October; in the interim I plan on entering Australia on a WHV while my 189 gets sorted.

    Can I apply for the WHV from New Zealand and how long do they take to be issued?

    (my fear is applying for a WHV from ireland, and it being activated when I stop over in Sydney on the way to NZ - i'll lose a month on my WHV that way)

    Also - I can do the above right? go to oz on a WHV while waiting for my 189?
