Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Deserved and Buffon should be gone too.

Time for Italy to implement plan Chelsea.

You're anti Italy posts are getting funnier. Keep it up.

By the letter of the law that's a red. Might be harsh but his foot is studs up and too high.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,657 ✭✭✭CountyHurler

Feel sorry for the Italian lad, that was harsh.. Certainly not intentional.. Seemed like he was just trying to turn and shield the ball, not even trying to tackle the Uruguayan...

Beglin could have a bit more consistency in his own commentary given that he is always calling for the same from the referees..

    What an abysmal decision.

This world cup has been the worst for refereeing decisions.

lol, it was a definate red ffs

It's a tad harsh, but you can see why it was given.

Certain red looking at the replays. Fair play to the ref.

Think it was a bit harsh myself. There didn't seem to be a lot of momentum behind the challenge.

It is kind of painfully obvious who he has put his money on. :pac:

If Uruguay win are Italy automatically out? Or is it dependent on Costa Rica's result?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,370 ✭✭✭✭Son Of A Vidic

Initially looked harsh, but the replay then suggested otherwise. I'm rooting for Italy, but you just can't have your studs up like that.

He had to give it. Don't think it was intentional but that means fcuk all

Challenging a player near knee high while the ball is on the ground with the ref 5 yards away will always be a red and rightly so IMO.

Italy attacking more now. Looks like they know they're gonna need a goal to get out of this alive.

Pirlo finding so much space now that Uruguay are sending the troops forward. I fancy Italy to go 1 up

Hard to be critical of the ref giving the red, hands were tied going by the rules of the book. Not sure what people are getting outraged about.

    Immobile. Funny guy.

Ugh. The diving is going to be worse now. Telling ye. Not a single team has closed out a 1 goal margin win without all of the gamesmanship. I dislike it immensely. Still. My Pirlo love will let me endure that today if Italy win.

'Cavani dropping deeper' he should drop to the right and take a seat for all the use he has been.

It's amazing how much I this Italy teamwould benefit from Rossi, especially with the form he was in the second half of the season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,397 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

    Ref unnecessarily blowing it up.

  • Registered Users Posts: 503 ✭✭✭Kat97

Very dull game. Uruguay are not playing like they want to win. The Italians just need a draw but Uruguay need to win!!

For goodness sake move him off the pitch.

Yeah it's also professional and systematic time wasting and this wont be the last episode..

He's put in a shift so far but he hasn't been great on the ball.

He actually might've pulled something. Veratti was one of the better. Can't imagine he would've been taken off willingly

You wouldn't want to be a Uruguayan fan watching this game. They're limping toward an anemic exit.
