Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

And it seems I now own a double of Hand of the Heavenly Bride, feck!
It's Chapters of the Chosen I need!
I'll have to do a bit of buying and selling on fleabay and correct this heinous error.

The Star Wars figures look great alright, I just can't go buying into the Disney Infinity series, seems like very very expensive DLC and simple base gaming, unless things have radically changed since the first one. And I have no interest in buying into a franchise and then discovering that I have to build the game myself.

New to the franchise myself so no idea how it compares to the first two. Not sure how comparable it is to Skylanders either - does that have level creating/sharing type functionality? Not sure. There seems to be buckets of content so far though, on top of spending time playing the first Play Set campaign we've killed a good few hours just running around the Tox Box hub levelling up that way. Haven't gone near the level creation side of things either other than the first tutorial so not in any position to comment on it's longevity yet.

I've only one complaint so far though - Jar Jar Binks makes a short appearance at one stage. So what if the play set is roughly following the first 3 episodes, still leave that clown out! :pac:

Hope you didn't spend any monies on Mario Maker so... :P

At least there level creation is quick and a game in itself and the price you pay for the game buys you everything you need to build a SMB level.
Splatoon has shown the type of model that delivers big changes and expansions for free, even if they go the MK8 DLC route then it's still some of the best value to be had out there, on console.
It's interesting that on the figurine enhanced titles the price of two figures will buy you the whole DLC packs for MK8 and all the goodies therein.

But, the Star Wars Infinity package looks superb... might buy into it later, when it's cheaper.

Player1 in maynooth have a good selection of dreamcast fighters (even had jojos! ) but I had to resist spending my pub money.

    Today I received:

A small hole drilled in the wall directly behind the arcade cabinet so I don't have to snake an extension lead across the floor everytime I want to turn the machine on!

Literally the last thing I had to get done as part of the whole refurb and typically took ages as I was depending on someone else turning up with their masonry drill!

so just back from the US and the Retroware Convention.
Myself and Banjo Girl Fiona spend the week after game chasing on small roads of Connecticut, America Pickets style. Found a TON of games for cheap, some toys and a couple of LCDs and boxed consoles. But my favourite find was this metal food tray found in a barn :)

    That's a tough one..

If you give them a broken CDi, well then you get to see the disappointment in their face when the realise it broken. But ultimately they're better off.

Whereas as if you give them a working one with 'software', then you get to enjoy the utter devastation on their face as they actually use it. So really is a present for you :D

A broken one is worse. I got a broken one, researched a fix, realised there were no guides so researched it more and came up with a fix. Then I put the effort into fixing it and then I got to play the games...

For a while I've been making videos of the carboot sales and charity shops I go to. Not so much like the game chasers but more like LGR and PAT's flea market madness. I don't really find stuff as glamorous as NES carts, but the odd medagrive titles. Mostly it's disk based systems, like ps1, psp, pc, xbox...
most of the footage is a few month old already by the time I get to edit it. I'll be posting these regularly in the Gaming Vids & Streaming forum under my own thread

No carboot here, just a trip to Smyth's to net a copy of LoZ: A Link Between World's, new, for only €19.99, in there Nintendo Selects range, happy days.

Some birthday gets from the Girlfriend. Loving the Retron 5, and finally tried out Mother: 25th Anniversary. I don't think I can go back to vanilla after playing.

The 8bitdo SFC30 is definitely highly recommended if you have a Retron 5 (or play emulators full stop). Feels great, just like the original SNES controller. Check out the reviews, generally highly regarded. Packaging is impressive too, pretty much like an Apple product.

Yeah, it's great. It's a rom hack/translation patch that updates all the sprites, the map and pretty much everything else to give it more of an Earthbound feel. It still stays extremely true to the gameplay and experience, just updated.
