Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A console from Japan off eBay. I Ordered from the seller before and while I paid €170 for the item, they marked the value on the box as $50 and I didn't get any customs charges. Didn't ask them to do that by the way. Hopefully the same will happen as this item was €220 or so =\

20 euros is the customs limit in Ireland so even with 50 as a value it can still get pulled.

Yeah I know but charges on a $50 item would be a lot more favourable than $200+

Here are the import and duty thresholds for Ireland.

If the item exceeds €150 you can git hit for both :(

Some things are actually completely exempt. Off the top of my head, books and children's clothes.

Duty is not charged if either:
the FOB value, i.e. the value of the goods excluding shipping and insurance cost, does not exceed €150
the amount of duty payable on a consignment does not exceed €10

VAT is not charged if either:

the CIF value, i.e. the sum of the value of the goods, shipping and insurance cost, does not exceed €22
the amount of VAT payable on a consignment does not exceed €6

The most important question and we let it pass us by :)

€220 - must be something fancy anyway!

I'm guessing a Wii-U or maybe another Pokemon themed 3DS.

220 euro worth of Dreamcast Trance packs?
Remember to give them a rinse!

    22 I think http://www.revenue.ie/en/customs/leaflets/pn1179.html
"Consignments not exceeding a total customs value of €22 may be imported without payment of VAT."

Just got one of these, super low profile import adapter. Should be able to play my NTSC US carts now without cutting the case.

Yeah I can't stand using the regular import adapters, they just stand far too high out of the console and you end up with that tower effect.

These are called 'super adapters'. Can't see any more on ebay at the moment, but there's a super key which is the same size

It's hard to remember the GB title, it had a lot of r's but I did (Magical Taruruuto Kun), I liked it on SNES too.

I got it for Retr0 too a little while back. Just small thanks for all the hosting.

I think my missing N64 games finally turned up! For a moment I thought I'd dreamed them all up and was going mad.

Seems there was a crate of videogames found under a bed in the spare room of the parents house.

/Fingers and toes all crossed for that CIB Paper Mario.

    Expect pictures soon! :D

Lots more stuff than I was expecting. So many PS2 games I'd totally forgotten I had.

On a side point, damn those Tesco crates hold a lot of stuff

Unfortunately what I thought was Paper Mario was in fact Yoshi's Story.

    IMG_20150108_171333194_zps87640a08.jpg

Finally got a chance to hook this up too. It doesn't seem to do anything.. although I don't have a disk so maybe it doesn't try to boot up unless there's something in it? Ah well, looks cool anyway. And yes yes, I know, 50hz the horror :D

Still a nice surprising haul :) I'd love to get all my stuff out of the attic and catalogue it so I can see if anything is mising.

Was some surprise alright! Literally everything is out of storage now, so wasn't expecting anything of that magnitude to be left hidden away somewhere.

Some great PS1 and PS2 games in there, including your old favourite R Type Final :pac:

Its a real shame that the N64 games havent aged well.

Now I'm doing two things wrong. Flat screen tv and pal.

But I have the console goods adapter and I recently got the expansion pak.

But alas a lot of games just look horrible and quite a few have slowdown. Playing NFL QB club the other day out of curiosity as it came with the console when I got it and my god the slow down was awful.

I though the expansion pak might help but nope.

At least I can give perfect dark a go now though.
