Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Kagawa looks such a poor player. A shadow of what he was at Dortmund.

A few good chances Ramos has messed up now.

Japan off the ball are so static in this match at least. Usually good.

Feel for Japan, but the more Colombia score the more nice crowd shots we get

What a glorious finish from Rodriguez. Fantastic player who will have a field day against Uruguay.

'Mon-teh-deh-video'. The Uruguayan capital according to Kerr.

Rodriguez is just brilliant... think I remember hearing Man Utd were rested last year, but Moyes instantly shot it down when he came in. Outside bet for best player behind Neymar and Robben so far.

Love this Columbian team. Suarez should not be playing in next round so looking forward to seeing them in final 8.

Love that they brought 43 year old on.

Hope Didi isn't correct by saying that their uber confidence will come back to bite them...

Just seen Rodriguez goal. Unsurprising, but brilliant.

To give myself a pat on the back :P From the opening game thread, pre-KO:

I think Columbia will do fine myself.

He earned himself a big money to Monaco last summer, but the next week or two will be the making of James Rodriguez. Well, the platform is there for him to do so anyway. That reminds me, I need to put a little something on him as POTT!

The kid is a gem. Was 66/1 for POTT too. Their defence still worries me somewhat though.

the lads on RTE arguing about Colombia goalkeeper Faryd Mondragón and Didi Hamann thought it was disrespectful to the Japanese. He cant be serious!

Yeah it's rediculous. The Colombian manager is responsible for his own team first and foremost; and bringing Mondragon on will have been great for morale.

If they were so worried about disrespecting people they wouldn't be making such a fuss out of a player (who has trained with and been a member of the squad since 1993), as much right as any other member of the 23 man squad to play, doing so entirely within the rules of the tournament.

Kudos to the Colombian manager who has obviously endeavored to give each of his 23 men at least some minutes at the tournament, which in my opinion is very respectful to the value of each of their contributions. It is up to Pekerman how he wants to use his squad and in my opinion he has used it fantastically. Not as if he brought a keeper on up front, the guy has 24 years of professional experience and has played 56 games for Columbia. He is more than qualified to play, keeper or not is irrelevant.

Sorry for the rant but Hamann and Cunningham pissed me off.
