Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Well I was one of the lads! Obv he was brutal in that half and pretty bad last year, but I live in hope he will just wobble his head and get back on form, I'd have no qualms in a RB upgrade though.

I make it a year and a half he's been utter **** for now. Has a player ever lost form for that long and regained it? I can't see it :(

    Is he a Cricket dude?

Wouldn't know anything about that now,Ted.

Watching this game and I think Liverpool look so dangerous on the counter. There has been a lot of good defending done too, obviously not by Johnson, and I'd say that is hugely important in the managers mind after the amount of goals you conceded last year. I thought Can was a great buy and he is showing up well tonight. I think he could go on to be a Liverpool legend if he stays there and continues to improve over the next couple of years. He certainly has everything that is needed to be a top player.

    I amended the quote. :)

    Did Johnson just defend?

    Woodwork!

Also, "Liverpool a little stretched in the right back position". How many times will we hear that this season?

Nearly a great pass from Coutinho

I'd rather shit the bed than have Johnson as our first choice right back this season

Normal service resumed. Disregard previous concern

I hope it'll be flanagan. Himself and enrique would be pacy on the wings.

I don't see how that makes any sense.

Where is Flanagan though? Is he even on the tour?

you mean completely wrong option from Coutinho which set up a counter attack!

Possibly rested? Not pull a sterling and over exert the young lad.

You get a point for losing a shootout?? What madness is this?

    I don't like poo.
I don't like having Johnson as our first choice. At times his lack of interest (for a pro )is appalling

At the time I wrote the post, i prefered the option of waking up covered in poo to Johnson being our first choice

    I'm weird like that

Gerrard saving Johnson's arse for the 34,678th time in the last year there.

As worthless as this trophy is, it would be nice to win it especially if it means Manchester City don't.

It's basically just the standard point each for the draw and a bonus point on offer for whoever wins the shootout.

  • Registered Users Posts: 897 ✭✭✭NyOmnishambles

    Not a bad game

The lads are lacking in sharpness but to be expected, improvement over the Roma game and I am liking the attacking intent

With subs about to come on the cohesiveness could take a bit of a dive but hopefully they keep it together

They can shove their PL trophy, would much rather win a trophy essentially called the Guinness Cup! :D

    So from what I gather. The madness is as follows;

    3 points for a win
A draw at 90 mins goes straight to penalties
2 points for a penalty win
    1 for losing.

    Americans, Y U DU DIS!?

As is the case with all American "sports", they are allergic to draws.

American sports fans don't like games that end in draws.

Has Joe Allen been pretty terrible or is it just me?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,105 ✭✭✭mada999

Still seem to have problem in the center of the field when we have the ball, the out ball seems to to be to coutinho most of the time, need another center midfield player to move further forward and show for the ball imo, and then push it on to coutinho

Game has gone flat, but we're still the better team here.

Sturridge and Sterling off for Ibe and Lambert

Sturridge looks sharp. Which gives me a lot of confidence.

Wasn't overly fussed with Markovich. Looked very rusty and looks like he needs to build a bit of strength up.

Barely touched the ball for the first 25. Had one good run and shot wide. Second run he should of done much better. Its only the first we have seen so he is bound to improve. At the moment from what I have seen, Id rather Ibe start ahead but there will much more to come from Lazar.

Can was very impressive again. Has a bit of power about him and good at surging forward.

It's his injury record that worries me. Borini and Lambert only current alternatives.
