Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Can't have any complaints....Neville's defence is hilarious.

Very nasty from Valencia. Bit reckless in this game he has been today.

That's an atrocious tackle. Red card all day long.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,910 ✭✭✭✭whatawaster

Was wreckless, but got unlucky in the way his foot deflected off the ball up into Digne's knee

    Definite red though

Sickening challenge. Hope the guy isnt too badly injured!

Another poor ref decision likely to ruin any chance of this game improving. Don't think that was a red at all, benefit of the doubt should have been given with a yellow. Ah well, maybe we'll see France bang in a few goals to spice things up.

Seems like I'm going against the grain here. Didn't look like he was out of control and was going for the ball. Slow-mo has a way of making things look worse.

Antonio's a gentleman, he would never do anything like that intentionally, and was playing the ball.

I thought he was unlucky with how his foot came off the ball

    Wreck less all the same

Ecuador have the composure of a mini bus of drunk grannies on a bingo weekend.

If FIFA are taking the ban hammer out today to ban Suarez from club football I wouldn't mind if they gave Valencia a good whack as well, useless player

    The bandage put him off.

Lucky the ball got in the way of the tackle or he would have done damage for sure.

he deserved a red card,he could have tackled with the side of his foot or dink the ball over the defender but no he deliberately rolled his foot over the ball..its a cowardly tackle.

But what if you thought he was a good player?

Looks harsh in slow motion as he made good contact with the ball, but in real time he wasn't in control with two feet up after that and that's dangerous play.

What a shocking waste of a great opportunity there by Ecuador.

Over the top studs up challenge is a red all day long.. In saying that I reckon it might spark the ecudorians into life... Could nick one on the break with the direct running

Is that what he really said? His foot bounced off the ball because he went in two footed with no control of his body and therefore raked his studs down the opponents shin. That's a red card all day long in today's game.

Yeah, I edited my post when I seen the other reactions. Thought it looked accidental myself but looks like I called that one wrong.

I'm sorry but Sakho is a beast of a player.

Think it was a harsh red tbh. His foot bounced off the ball. Did not seem to be any malice. Sometimes accidents just happen.

The French are proving they have a fine first 11 and little beyond that in this game. They need to get Giroud on.

Horrendous pass by Valencia to be fair.

Caught the tail end of a replay of the Valencia tackle. Would love to see it again, but I'm assuming the red was deserved.

Was a red card but a bit unlucky in how it turned out, got a foot / studs to the ball, but did follow through after that, intentionally malice or not I don't know. sakho should have got red for an elbow too if that's the reckoning as the elbow was wreckless too...

sakho should have seen a red alright.

Loic Remy coming on possibly, Varane also ready to take to the field.

    Sakho off after that bang.

It was a red, but not remotely two-footed

France used up all their goal-scoring powers in the last 2 games.

Have a feeling they will go out in the next round in pens after a nil-nil draw.
