Cooking meat on day its supposed to be used by

    Suppose I buy meat off my butcher today and it says use by today, the 27th. If I cook the meat is it good for another couple of days after its cooked? I

    Is it just a matter of getting it cooked before it goes off and then when its cooked its grand for another couple of days?
