Definitely up there but I'd Messi will be the man to beat, dragging Argentina along by the scruff of the neck (plus politics and that jazz). No doubt though that James is one of the stars of the show already.

If Rodriguez wasn't player of the tournament before this, he is now.

Tim Cahill is Australian... how did you go from that comment to you forgot England were even at this world cup?

I'll tell you how - beer googles. He said Tim Cahill - and I saw Gary Cahill & then thought of England's demise.

If Colombia hold on to win, will a quarter final be the furthest they've ever got in a world cup ?

They'd fancy their chances against Brazil too.

Drink more beer, or less beer. Your current beer level is making your head think odd things :P

Yep, only got past the group stage once before - in 1990; and were knocked out by Cameroon in the second round.

Funny to hear the ITV commentator say that Uruguay do have the players to rise to the occasion and change a game.... yup they do.... in Uruguay.

Half Time - enjoyable first half with out being a great game. The goal was world class though. Worth watching for that alone.

Bill reckons Rodriguez could emerge from this tournament as a star. Monaco spent €45m last year on him ffs

Eamo doesn't think Colombia are a good team at all...

Eamo writing off Colombia as naive, might as well stick some dubloons on them then.

And people wonder why some get on RTE about lack of research.

In the group stages they said he was sold to Monaco as part of the Falcao deal. Despite the playing for separate teams at the time.

    Depends on the ref though

Brazil got a dodgy pen against Croatia apart from that I can't see the boards obsession with the refs are favouring Brazil stuff. They have got the benefit of some marginal calls and have also suffered from some marginal calls.

Colombia not a good team:rolleyes: Just on their way to winning all games they've played. Really Eamo? You fool

Colombia are my team and would love if the win the World Cup.

Also one of the greatest goals i've ever seen. But their not a good team:rolleyes:

Why in God's name are RTE using the prime advertising spot ... first ad in the main world cup soccer matches... to promote that stupid Kitchen Hero program... What a waste of money.. It's not even the right demographic, that is if there actually is a "right" demographic for it.

They are owned by 3rd parties, its hardly the same 3rd party owning the 2 players? (I'm not sure who the 3rd parties involved were) If it is, you could consider it part of the same deal. But knowing them, they werent thinking like that and they just made a balls of it

Cavani needs to step up though.

Didi Hamann wondering what the hell did to deserve to be sitting between these two.

Camera man seems to be fond of the girl in the red shirt. She's had at least 5 close ups at this point. Long may it continue :D

I think Cavani needs to step up in the second half.

Controversial, bad as Dunphy you are.

Colombia have been one of the most impressive teams in this world cup, they are up against a tough defensive unit tonight and they look good against them going forward. I just wonder about their defense though.
