Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Love ITV's graphics, so retro, very Sega Megadrive.

Mexico look a very fit outfit and work hard. Would like to see them go through.

Why do people get upset when people say it? Didn't Bill have to apologise for saying it the last day, talk about silly.

I'm not upset, I'm just asking.

I can imagine many Munster folk being upset though if our international team was referred to as Leinster. If you're from Leinster or either the North Holland/South Holland provinces you're unlikely to mind.

Memories of Holland Ireland 1994. Similar weather anyway.

A Terry Phelan mistake is on the way

    Hope Mexico take this one.

Ditto, two of my favourite teams to watch this tournament (along with Chile and Columbia). May the best team win, whoever that is.

I didn't mean to say you were upset but people in general.

The temps will suit the Mexicans.

Nothing else I like. Not really keen on the latter game neither truth be told.

Think this one goes the full 90 and beyond, and the heat will play a major factor barring some magic from Robben. Considering how much Robben hates me (and I hate him), I expect a MOTM performance from him :pac:

The chant the Dutch use to cheer on the Oranje is even 'Hup Holland Hup'. It's not an issue for them really.

    Same as.

I was sorry to see them drawn against each other at this stage in the gig.

I'ts one of those games where I'd like to see both sides go through to the QF's.

Can't happen obviously so I'm going to nod toward the Dutch if only for European support.

    Awful dive from Robben there.

Thats a blow with De Jong coming off.

It's only RVP and Robben against the whole Mexican defence when they're attacking

    They need some support

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 12,333 ✭✭✭✭JONJO THE MISER

    Should of done better there.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,683 ✭✭✭LightningBlue

Decent chance for Herrera. Probably should have scored.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,536 ✭✭✭Dolph Starbeam

Mexico looking very good here. The Dutch don't look threatening at all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,022 ✭✭✭jamesbere

I think rvp might of pulled him back

    Mexicans looking the more dangerous

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Very easily could have been a penalty there

Looks like the mexicans can get in behind that Dutch defence easily enough.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

Holland maybe reserving themselves for the second half

Back line of 7 at the moment

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,701 ✭✭✭Bacchus

And that's what I never like about Holland (same as in previous tournaments). Within a minute we have RVP dragging down a defender by the jersey and at the other end, two Dutch players nearly kicking the Mexican forward in the head. Not that every other team in the tournament are angels but it always seems to be a feature of Hollands game.

  • Site Banned Posts: 26,456 ✭✭✭✭Nuri Sahin

The ref better come back to book Robben

Why is the yellow for diving never given anymore?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,701 ✭✭✭Bacchus

Great long shot there. Mexico looking far more dangerous. Is this the same Holland that coasted through the group stages?

Why aren't keepers catching balls in this tournament? Infuriating.

    Bit longer than a minute.

They didn't really coast through the group stages, Spain aside.

Because the holier than thou attitudes of the GB & I bubble we are used to watching do not apply here. Rest of the world allows for more leniency where simulation is concerned.

I have a feeling they're doing that alright, especially in that heat.

It changes your point a bit. You tried to make it sound like it all happened just after kick off.

EDIT: New phone misspelling every second word.

Demolished Spain, comfortably beat Chile and came away with 9 points from 3 games. Granted, Australia gave them a scare but they still won (great game too btw).

With Chile being beaten (just barely) by what many consider a weak Brazil side and with Spain hitting the self destruct, could the group stage results have flattered Holland? Is it just that they're meeting a good side for the first time?
