Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Benzema not in the game at all so far.

He's getting in the right positions, just needs the right ball

Giroud should get a 2 year ban for that.

    Sell him.

    :p

The French like to throw their elbows.

They also seem to get away with it as well.

1 - 1 in today's match for elbows. Moses opened the scoring for Nigeria, Giroud with the equaliser

Looked like it might have been unintentional, but definitely made contact.

Missed the start of the game. Was Moses' one bad?

Moses and Cabaye running for the ball. Moses slightly ahead, stretched his arm and caught Cabaye. Looked accidental.

I thought that's what you were on about in your earlier post. Now my reply makes no sense :pac:

I was! Edited the post you quoted when I remembered. That's how much of a non elbow I thought it was :pac:

Has Giroud actually managed to take more than two touches of the ball at any time?

i.e - has he had any dribbles/held the ball for longer than two seconds???

Both him and Benzema are playing ****e.

Skrtel school of defending that one

    Evra got away with that.

  • Registered Users Posts: 87 ✭✭Invertpyramid

Another rugby tackle from Evra. Shocking defender. That sort of stuff needs to be stopped by the officials.

Not for the first time in an important international game, France will get the key decisions.

    Great play from Matuidi

Not sure why they are playing both up front, they have had to change the system to accomodate them,Benzema is playing mostly on the left wing he has been great up front on his own in previous games.

Evra's fairly adept at playing the innocent victim at this stage... Seems like this referee buys the act as well... There is a serious problem with referee's tolerating defenders pushing/dragging/holding/pulling the opposing team's players, particularly on set pieces.

Pogba has been fantastic, and Nigeria are definitely owed a pen.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,014 ✭✭✭✭Corholio

Don't understand why Griezmann isn't playing instead of Giroud. It's messed up their system playing him up front and Benzema out wide.

Nigeria are well capable of springing a surprise here.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,319 ✭✭✭Al_Coholic

Evra needs to cop himself on,go out and close the ball down instead of just dangling a lazy leg out.

He should be gone actually... Elbow straight in the face... I'm sure it didn't hurt, but by the letter of the law he should definitely be gone..

WTF call is that? I rewound and Benzema was definitely onside for both touches after the free kick.

Why would we? he is having a stinker and a few of us dont particularly rate him too highly anyways.

Someone needs to sit that American team down and teach them the offside rule

As an arsenal fan, I will testify to the capability of some 'Carebear' Gooners to do this when it comes to any criticism of Giroud.

Quite as to why some of us do, I have not a clue. He is not good enough for Arsenal.

Mind you this is the same lot who didn't want Wenger to sign Cesc because we already had Cazorla.....

He might be better served concentrating on cutting out some of his nonsense refereeing, instead of trying to be everyone's friend.
