Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The conspiracy theorist in me thinks the ref is under orders to get France through.

Font know that the ref is consciously helping them, I just think he has no gall.

France are clearly getting some control now anyway. Griezmann has made the difference.

It was only a matter of time. Sorry for Nigeria.

Does he have Nigerian ancestry? He did the whole fake "im not celebrating, celebration."

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,762 ✭✭✭Birdnuts

Thats it - France to advance. They won't win the WC based on that performance though

Alkin is getting Cabaye and Valbuena, who is half his size, ridiculously mixed up.

Come on like, you'd swear it was Cissokho and Sakho.

    Goalie flapped at it.

Only thing Pogba's done all game. Was probably coming though. Keeper been far too erratic from corners.

Shocking goalkeeping hands them a soft goal. Nigerian keeper will definitely be on Pogba's Christmas card list.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,578 ✭✭✭✭Turtwig

Goalkeeper took it off the head of evra only to knock it onto pogba's head.

RTE and their commentators and pundits are useless.
To be fair Kerr is great at his job and Richie has been the best WC pundit on any UK/Irish channel by a mile. Kenny is actually possibly next best in terms of sheer knowledge/insight (but badly lacks personality) while Hamann is also class. Friedel too, but I think his appearance was a once off. Hamiltons not bad either as a commentatorbut some don't like him I suppose, and Darragh is a good presenter having been pretty horrible at it in his earlier years.

It's the Old Boys Club faction that is absolutely appalling and continuously drags the rest down with them, in my opinion.

Don't know about that, I thought Pogba had a particularly good first half.

Grievzman (sp?) has made a massive difference to France.

    Game changer that sub.

If France want to win the WC, Giroud needs to be kept away from the pitch

I didnt think he did, was slow to react to possession Nigeria had throughout the match and has been a bit slow on the ball. France's midfield in general have been poor.

    Least deserved win so far?

Enyeama has been fantastic despite that.

    Lovely finish by Griezmann.

Why would you start Giroud ahead of him?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,522 ✭✭✭tigger123

    Game over.

Nigeria have collapsed since the second lad had to go off injured

LOL at Griezmann, he's like "I didn't touch it guys, came off the def... ah whatever, let's just hug".

All you ever do is talk about the Pundits/commentators.
Do you ever give it a rest???

Griezmann better get MOTM and another step towards player of the tourney award.

Look forward to hearing what Deschamps has to say with regards to the line up he went with.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,522 ✭✭✭tigger123

They should have given the Nigerian players more World Cup Bonuses at half time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,069 ✭✭✭✭My name is URL

Yet the ref spotted that handball :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,014 ✭✭✭✭Corholio

Id be worried about starting quarter final if I was Koscielny, had a poor enough game today. But Deschamps changes the team every game it seems anyway, so who knows.

    Germany will kick their ass

You can tell who is and isn't in Brazil. When the logo flashed up at the end of the match and Kerr was talking over it there was no background sound from the crowd.

Whenever Hamilton etc is on the crowd noise is heard along with the commentators voice when that logo goes up.

And even if they somehow go all the way, The Iron Tulip will do them.

What's the deal with refs not adding on any time after 90mins? Goal+sub but was blown up right on 5 mins. Noticed it in most games so far.
