Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

USA seem to be running low on energy.

Origi has to gamble on the defender not getting that.

Origi looks very composed for a lad with so little senior experience - 45 first team appearances for Lille

    Also trivia fact

On 25 June 2014, a baby dolphin at the Boudewijn Seapark in Bruges, Belgium was baptised "Origi" in his honour after having scored the winning goal against Russia during their group stage match at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

    Is it a Catholic dolphin?

Some seriously bad quality crossing in this game

Goal for Belguim is coming. USA haven't come out second half. They look leggy

    That was a good hit

It's a joke that Vertonghen has been Belgium's best attacking threat.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,245 ✭✭✭✭briany

USA won't be able to withstand this pressure much longer. Have to try and hold up the ball in Belgium's half a bit.

    no-one expects the Vertonghen inquistion.

Dempseys movement in the box tonight has been appalling

Games that involve the US are brilliant!!

Is Januza on the bench. Maybe swap him for De brynue

    Yedlin can cross.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,546 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

Only seen 2nd half but I''m surprised how little US are getting on the ball.

Only a matter of time for Belgium if this pressure keeps up

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,305 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Prodston

    Some classic Yedlin play there!

    Dempsey looks shattered.

US look a lot more comfortable defending now I think

That was close, USA need to wake up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,797 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

    Fellaini looks lost out there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52,408 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

This is heading for e.t. and penalties i'd think.

The USA team are like a hard working, honest(if a little limited) championship team and I admire that. Kinsman is doing the best he can with what he has. The Belgians on the other hand are like a pampered team unwilling to give 100%. full of individuals who need to snap out of their half arsed efforts.

I just told the wife I'd give here a good Yedlin after the game. The look I got means its not likely to happen!:(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

Both teams look to be a bit low on energy - I dread to think what extra-time would be like.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,177 ✭✭✭TheTownie

    Fellaini looks lost out there.

Nobody plays a square pass and trots into the box quite like Fellaini.

    What a save.

Its a bit like watching Ireland. USA not making the ball stick anywhere, under huge pressure as a consequence

You mean you'd give her a good cross into the box??

This is heading for e.t. and penalties i'd think.

The way these final 16 games have being going, especially after the Argentina match, we should get our quota of penalties today.

  • Registered Users Posts: 476 ✭✭twinex

I can't help but think Landon Donovan would be an addition to that team, even as a sub.

If only Altidore was playing the US wouldnt be under have as much pressure after clearances

Mirallas really should have done better. Great through ball by Origi.

  • Moderators, Regional East Moderators Posts: 23,231 Mod ✭✭✭✭GLaDOS

Mirallas should have scored that, best chance of the game

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

All these misses make me think that the USA could sneak this.

    Teams often regret missed chances.
