Radio link for the Carlow game

    http://kclr96fm.com/livestream/carlow.php

Will be interesting to see how Carlow will react to their drubbing by Meath.

What sort of shape are Tyrone in against Louth? Tyrone's 4th game of the Championship already and still a long way to go to the final.

Cavan v Westmeath should be an intriguing game.

KCLR didnt have the mic set up properly for the national anthem so it sounded like it was about 3/4 miles away. Classic local radio.

I did learn a new word - "Carlovians" meaning people from Carlow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

0-0 and the feed from KCLR is gone - playing that weird Ke$ha C&W hip-hop song all of a sudden.

back to feed - Waterford 2 points up. sounds fairly scrappy stuff.

Waterford 3 points to 1 up. Carlow just hit the post with a free. 13 minutes gone

"makes a race-horse out of the Waterford man"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

Carlow hit the post again. Same post.

"No shaving foam here. it's not the World Cup"

    Still 3 points to 1.

Waterford 4 wides Carlow 2 wides
Carlow playing against a wind that sounds strong.

Carlow shot at goal and hit the cross-bar. Out for a 45.

Constant technical problems for KCLR -

    Carlow hit the 45 wide.

    Waterford 4 points to 1.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

Waterford hit the post as well.

    Carlow get a 2nd point. 4 points to 2.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

Some soppy love ballad interrupts play all of a sudden then cuts back to a score for Carlow and then dead air.

    Now back to the ballad.

    Waterford 5 Carlow 3

Brilliant save by Waterford keeper out for 45.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

    Waterford 1-6 Carlow 0-6 at half-time

Sounds like a horror mixup in the Carlow defence pretty much gave Waterford the goal.

Free hit the post again but went over for Carlow.

    Tyrone 5 Louth 2 after 12 minutes.

Sounds like Tyrone fairly comfortable at the moment.

    20 minutes gone

    Tyrone 7 Louth 2

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

Tyrone 7 Louth 6 - Louth went on a quick burst off scoring to close the gap.

    Can Tyrone respond?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

    Tyrone 9 Louth 6

Tyrone with 2 frees to open a bit of a gap just before HT.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

    Tyrone 9 Louth 7 HT

sounds like Louth making much more of a game of it after a slow start.

Carloe beating Waterford. Pathetic stuff from Waterford

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

    Carlow 0-13 Waterford 1-9

Carlow pride restored anyway after the Meath game but can they get the result?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

KCLR are my new favourite radio station.

Commentary vanished and Kylie comes on for a few seconds then back to the game.

    21 minutes gone.

Commentator describing some woman gone out to the shop as she cant watch.

    Black card for Carlow

Commentator - "It better not go to extra-time as I've to get to Tullamore, so you'll be doing the commentary Willie"

Tyrone back in control v Louth

    Tyrone 2-12 Louth 0-7

Cavan v Westmeath - not getting great reviews on Newstalk. - "a 50/50 game but boring"

    Cavan 0-4 Westmeath 0-3.

    Cavan 0-5 W'meath 0-7

Newstalk seems so sedate compared to the madness that was KCLR fm ; probably not helped by the nature of the game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

    Cavan 0-6 Westmeath 0-7

Cavan do have the wind at HT

    Tyrone 2-19 Louth 0-8

Louth 1 pont in the 2nd half Tyrone 2-10

    Ouch !!!

    One thing to note.

It seems the lower division teams are able to compete with the better teams for the first half before fading away.

E.g. Laois v Dublin, Antrim v Donegal, Louth v Tyrone.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Good win for Carlow, expected Waterford to win that one.

Pity about Louth, seemingly blown away in the 2nd half.

    Westmeath-Cavan sounds tight.

What's the story with all the afternoon throw Ins? Is this a consequence of the $ky deal or What? I always enjoyed the atmosphere at Saturday evening championship or qualifier games, and am wondering if they are a thing of the past.

Subs and fitness are big factors -

The "bigger" teams will have much better quality players on their subs bench.

There's also the fact that the pace of the different divisions as regards fitness.

I remember watching the league finals last year and on Saturday it was Division 4 and then Division 3. Then Sunday Division 2 and Division 1.

The pace of the games just went up drastically as the weekend went on.

There's also the fact that the bigger teams wouldn't be viewing the lesser teams as serious threats so the intensity isn't likely to be 100% from the off.

might be - there's no football game this evening apart from the one on Sky -might be a condition of the sky deal.

Cavan 1-8 Westmeath 0-8 after 7 minutes in the 2nd half.

in a low-scoring game could be key.

Statement of intent by Tyrone ?
