First birthday gift ideas for Goddaughter

Hi,

My goddaughter is having her first birthday soon. I need tog et her a present but I’ve no idea what is an appropriate gift for her.

Any ideas or suggestions is appreciated.

We gave our daughter a box of Duplo for her first birthday and she loved it. She also got a set of wooden building blocks too. Both still keep her happy for ages at 2.5 years

Books?

This book is a lovely hardback edition of fairy tales. Has the little ribbons for holding place in book. Illustrations are stunning. Write a little note in the cover with the date and sign it.

Maybe something for her bedroom. Bed cover set. I got a lovely ceiling lampshade with flowers and butterflies for her bedroom.
Or a small rocking horse.
Something with peppa pig on it.

Yes for a 1 year old. People gave me books like that for my newborn and we use them every day from nearly the day they were born. Bedtime stories! Babies and children love it.

Maybe your goddaughters family don't do that, but most families read to their children.

When my sister turned 1 I just got her stuff that she would need like vest babygrows/sleepsuits/all in one and socks I got two packs of each in different sizes so she wouldn't have every thing in one size

Please don't give bloody prize bonds. Brutal return, and a pain in the backside to cash in. Most end up in a drawer forgotten about forever.

There's still time to pop into a shop surely. Most bookshops have children's sections and can advise. Toy shops are plentiful around the country. Even dunnes stores has a lovely children's clothes section. They do nice special occasion clothes in the Leigh Tucker section, easily good enough for a gift. and there are 24 hour dunnes around.

A little bracelet that could be worn on their communion when they're bigger. Or a music box - a really good present for a peaceful sleep for baby/child and again a good present for the future.

I got one of those photo story books made up with lots of photos I had of my godson from when he was born right up to before his 1st birthday, you can write stories then to go with the pictures and they all loved it! I've great photos now of him opening the book and seeing his face looking back at him:)
