    Belated happy birthday, RB!

Was over in France, picked up MH4 a classic nes controller n3DS cover plates, an n3ds charging stand (not to mention an n3ds xl one who's box I misread!) and guitar hero live for 10 quid (for gh, not for the lot. It may be in french and german but c'est le bargains)

Regrettably, nothing off your list Uberprinny. But I looked!

Excite Bots just dropped into my lap here in work.
The NTSC only sequel to the excellent Excite Trucks for the Wii, it's bizarre and mostly works, but it's nice to have, plus it'll happily run on my soft modded Wii.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,485 ✭✭✭✭Banjo

I've always wanted to play that. Loved excite truck, the idea of combining that with high speed high stakes poker and some sort of optimus prime cheese dream... ENJOY!

BTW, for anyone toying with a cheap french copy of Guitar Hero - the box says it's German / French, I've finally confirmed the game is nothing but english all the way through, can't even see an option to change the language setting. If you're a fan of the old games and sceptical of the 2-rows-of-3 button layout, it works so much better than you think it will, Even on easy you're doing barre chords and double-stop shifts that feel "more guitarry" than the 5 button system, though your little finger doesn't get much of a workout. The concert gimic works pretty well - you don't really notice most of the time, but getting an approving nod from a roadie is bizarrely rewarding and when the Jephson Hangout bassplayer lockers her ride-me eyes on you after you nail a tricky segment, it's all the stars/high score you'll ever need. Song selection is pretty poor, lots of new bands with new music that won't last rather than buckets of classic tunes that have proven their worth - in some ways you get more excited than you should when your band launches into Little Monster because you're so riff-starved - but GHTV had a good mix. Well, Dem Bones, 16 Salteens and that Soundgarden out-take they put on the last best-of came on, so I was sold :D IF you see it for 10 quid, buy it, tis' well worth it. Buy 2, so you can play it 2 player. But I'm glad I didn't spend 80/90 quid on release.

I find, when you play Excite Trucks, you find yourself having an awful lot of fun and completely forgetting that this console, the Wii, was alleged to be the lesser of the three released consoles at the time.
I know I have a lot more fun with Excite Trucks then I ever did with the comparable and incredibly brown Motorstorm, though they did tackle the palette thing with the sequels.

I don't think another giant plastic guitar game is for me though, I already have one for the PS3 as well as DJ Hero that has never even been opened.

I can't say for sure but I think I saw another disc there. There's just a wall of ex-rental games. Or at least there was when I was there. They were going fairly fast.

Tetsanuko V Capcom was the Capcom Vs title for the Wii, none of the others were released on the Wii.

I tried HMV Henry Street at lunch and there was nothing of any note (Nintendo or otherwise) there.

Just arrived from the land of the rising sun
Ninja Gaiden and Ninja Gaiden II for the Famicom.
Two classic games for not much money.
Every Ninty fan needs to get a Famicom, forget the awful NES and waiting for the NX, Famicom FTW!

Hmv Liffey valley served me up Red Steel 2, De Blob 2, dead space extraction and something else I forget.. For 70c each. Score!

Got Pikmin 2 (unboxed) for Wii in HMV Dundrum for €3.50.

What are my chances of picking up a box for it online as my mind can't really cope with unboxed disk games!

Didn't usually get protectors etc for the Gamepad but saw this one was 40% off on the Nintendo store and thought it looked cool.
