Age limit for mortgage applications

    What is the upper age limit for mortgage applications. In other words how many years after retirement age (65/66) is the mortgage allowed to run assuming there are no financial issues.

    Generally speaking the upper limit would be up to 70 years of age; however this will depend on the individual circumstances.

    Do the same age restrictions apply to a buy-to-let mortgage or is there a bit more flexibility.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for getting in contact with us here.
    Each mortgage application would be dealt with on a case by case basis. I have given a link here that has all the contact details for our mortgage centre and also gives the option to arrange a call back from one of our mortgage advisers, so you can they can discuss everything with you.
